He was a robot rather than a living being, and he had done some immoral things in the past (working as an enforcer for Aku) but at the time he was just trying to save his puppy from being killed.

They are evil. It's just that were created by an evil god. An evil god yes, but still a divine being. Same thing with the elemental Amazons though they were not evil, Jack his swords still had no effect on them. Aku is a major universal threat but he's still lower than a god/goddess and their extended warriors. That's why I like this episode. It's one of the sadly few instances a show doesn't adhere to the divine being = easier to kill just because it's 'evil'.

@@ashlirabid9614 I think the elemental demigoddesses were in the same category as the Minions. They are divine beings so it doesn't matter if they're evil or not. Alternatively, it could be that Jack's sword didn't work because they were made of wind and fire, so there was nothing to cut.

Fun fact: They were one of the few enemies that could not be defeated by Jack's Sword. Though it's possible that the upgraded version of Jack's Sword from Season 5 may have been able to harm them.

Plus, Egypt had been cursed by grave robbers looking for an easy payout, desecrating tombs and bodies alike! They wouldn't care about some prophecy meant to protect the living, so the beetle had to be broken down and hidden by riddles.

Well it seemed to have been meant for Egyptian Priests to know Egyptian tombs and sites are notoriously known to be robbed, especially by the builders who build them and know their way past secrets and traps The creators of this site, seem to try to prevent grave robbing by making puzzles hard to find so that robbers or the minions of Set themselves wouldn’t find the tools needed to defeat the minions outright Because they were hard to find, Jack was able to solve the puzzle

The 3 blind possessed archers where basically like or could be like the minion archers of a god, able to hit just about anything that moved with pinpoint precision with arrows that apparently could just about pierce anything. Meanwhile these minions of Set here are basically the frontline soldiers or basic warriors of this god.

Is it just me or does it seem like the dual-wielding one is, in particular, *really* not fucking around? Also the sequence starting at 0:35 is probably my favorite in all of Samurai Jack. Everything about it is just brilliant really, especially the incredibly fluid and graceful running animation for the Minion on the pillars. Damn. Also love the way the percussion changes when it jumps up, as if to accentuate the complexity of the movement going on, only to be replaced with the scary, droning chase theme the instant the Minion lands. Classic stuff. I also LOVE the cinematography in this episode. When the Minion gives Jack the backhand from hell, all we see is Jack flying in from the black space off screen in an extremely zoomed in, heavily cropped shot. Then the khopesh Minion jumps into frame out of nowhere before the camera zooms *way* out revealing the full context of the fight: the Minion that smacked Jack was still there the whole time, lurking.

The reason why Set is seen as a villain is ironically because of his minions/worshipers. Set in mythology isn't actually evil, he's complicated. He was actually the Protector of Ra and fought off Apophis the demon servant who wants to swallow the sun and envelop the world in darkness.

As for the Demonic Spirit-you mean the one with the essences I guess.
