Easily one of the greatest villains of all time. Aku was funny when he needed to be but when he needed to be threatening, there was zero humor. Aku was also one of those villains who did not hesitate to kill the hero, as shown in my favorite episode, Jack and the Zombies; when Aku had Jack pinned, there was no monologue, no convoluted way for Jack to escape, just a twisted smile and the killing blow. Easily the best cartoon villain ever, even greater than Bill Cypher.

I freaking love Aku: his design makes him look like a Japanese dragon (or some demonic thing), which the black-lime-red color scheme with his bulging eyes does extremely well. 7:04 is classic. Aku had his greatest enemy at his mercy at long last, after so many years, and he couldn't figure out the best way to kill Jack. Understandable too because when you have a nemesis who has been able to live through just about anything and everything you throw at them for years, when they are finally at your mercy and the ultimate victory is in your grasp, you want to end them in just the most special way possible.
