As an admirer of Vimoh’s work, I seriously think to term someone as an ‘Advaita apologist’ is wrong. He didn’t say anything wrong, and at times he might have lacked words to convey what he actually thought. Ramana Maharshi’s ideas are brilliant and fascinating, even if not absolute. I really think that the purpose shouldn’t be to defeat someone in a debate or prove them wrong, but to allow them to develop their point of view. Scholars as well as students are conducting researches on Ramana Maharshi’s point of view, and their reasons go beyond blind faith. Recently, Kierkegaard and Spinoza scholar Clare Carlisle used his teachings to talk about consciousness and oneness in one of her Gifford Lectures at St Andrews

Bhaiya i wanted to ask you a question but i don't know where to ask so i am writing is here hope you will see this... So the thing is whenever i try to debate with bhakts they always resort to whataboutism and i find it very hard to counter that and the whole conversation becomes meaningless. For example yesterday i was talking to a bhakt friend who also happened to be an incel, so i said that women face discrimination at work in india and he replied what about men trying to paint me a hypocrite. Vimoh talked about 'objective reality' which shows consistency and governed by the physical laws. Mohit whereas supported his ideas on 'subjective reality' and argued that it could be a real possibility. Reality as we perceive and live in could be the outermost layer of this 'layered dream states'. What if the true awakening is the realization of this one 'self' or the 'consciousness'. It's may sound highly philosophical but indeed a fascinating idea.

To reiterate, if this reality is just a dream, only the higher consciousness doing the dreaming can comprehend this fact upon waking up. There is only one consciousness. No higher or lower. The 'you' in dream and upon waking up is the same you. It's the ego that is dreaming and, destruction of the ego is self realisation. To whom does the illusion happen? Is it to the consciousness or to the ego. It's to the ego. So ego has to realise the truth. Although ultimately consciousness and ego are same like the rope is mistaken for a snake. And lastly, no one is forcing the ego to wake up. It just might be that one day the suffering is to much for the ego and it might try to make an effort to wake up.

It seems you're breaking down your subjectivity into parts and treating them as separate independent entities where one part is dreaming, while the other parts are not. That is not how dreams work. When we dream, all of our subjectivity is experiencing the dream. Not just parts of it. Also, let's say the part of "You" that you're calling "ego" is doing the dreaming, as you say. So if you were to "destroy" your ego, the dream/illusion "You" are experiencing will also disappear with the ego. And if the illusion disappears, you are bound to wake up. You cannot continue to dream on while the thing you say was doing the dreaming has been destroyed. You cannot be in the dream and be aware that it is a dream. You cannot continue to delude yourself while being aware it's a delusion. I hope I've made myself clear.

What Advaita vedanta means by illusion is that we don't actually experience true objective reality what we experience is the social constructs that we form of that reality. Example. What is a chair, if a sit on the ground, is planet earth a chair? If I sit on a table? Is the table a chair? Chair is only chair when we say it is. Now there is objective matter over there. But our reality that is based on that matter is a subjective illusion.

Maya is illusion but it doesn’t mean world doesn’t exist objects don’t exist it just means object may not exist the way your sense organs is perceiving them surely there are objects we all see the same objects but our sensory perception gives a meaning to those objects so that it’s useful for our survival in different ways you have thoughts about objects in your mind you don’t only see objects as they are and you probably could never and depending on what kind of conditioning your mind has you will perceive the world that way that’s what maya is. One more thing as you so easily said that you have seen other people die so you have concluded that consciousness is gone after person is dead but have you yourself experienced that? @@mohitdhiman79 I am consciousness, whose another formal name is "Mind". In the absence of mind, imagining consciousness is meaningless. If suffering is for the ego, then why do I suffer? If you suggest I am identifying with the Ego, then you have to admit that consciousness can identify with ego. In that case, activity in Consciousness is accepted, that goes against the basic tenets of Shankara's Advaita.

@ADAM-yr1fk mind is ego, not consciousness. Who says imagining consciousness is meaningless? Does consciousness say this or does ego says this. Ponder. Activity does not happen in consciousness, it only happens in ego. Who says there is activity, only ego which itself is illusion.

that which remains constant throughout the ever-changing material of universe , the constant field of awareness on which all material changes occur is called brahman . Its not egocentric , in fact advaita is all about giving up on the thought that you are the body mind. Understand, sleep is not the absence of experience but the experience of absence you are not the body, not the mind you are the pure awareness to which all of this is appearing the appearance is an illusion which is neither real nor unreal because it has an ever-changing nature( exists in conventional sense but not in ultimate sense hence the term "mithya")
