awesome. this was my favorite Intellivision game. I would purposely avoid taking the Minotaur's treasure and just keep going down level after level, facing increasingly stronger monsters and picking up increasingly stronger weapons. If I remember correctly, the colored doors (white, gold, etc) could be attacked with magic items, and when they were "killed", they turned into normal doors again.

Toss a chest at them and it would knock them out. Afterwards you could open them normally.

Ditto! This was my fav. Intellivision game as well. I would keep going down ladders to Level 256, & then start all over again. I would avoid the Minotaur's Chest until I @ least had a 99 Platinum Crossbow, a Purple Spiritual Book, & the Blue, Pink, & Purple "Magic Books .."
@gamblincabbie9505
@gamblincabbie9505 6 жыл бұрын
Incorrect... while tossing a treasure chest will stop them from attacking you (I use it from time to time to gauge their strength before committing) it doesn't allow them to be opened by doing that.. You have to defeat them to get in and get your Teleport, Turn to Platinum or Seeing Eye book

One of my favorite games, the colored doors are charmed and you can kill those doors. When you killed, you can find behind one of the three magic books : make powerfull weapons, travel across walls or see across walls.

Loved this RPG since age 3. My dad was bothered by the purple dragons where I was more bothered by the orange hooded wraiths cuz they attack with both war and spiritual weapons. They also always made haste for your weakest level of hit points, and red or purple spiritual weapons took more than one hit.

damn i used to go to my aunt's house and they had an intellivision with a box full of games, but all the plastic overlays were missing. I get some serious nostalgia watching this game, i remember playing this at night on a big television, trying to figure the game out.

This game was AWESOME. Didn't play it a whole lot, but I thought it was so badass at the time, especially compared to the other D&D. My brother and I found this cartridge on sale at kaybee toystore in the mall, on clearance for $.99. We had to remove the shell to make it fit. Visalia, CA, back in the 80's. It seemed like a rare title.

If you ever want to play this again, a couple of pointers. On this map it only shows down to level two, so once you pass level two you are no longer visible on the map. Open ALL the doors, you passed on so many. The colored 'eyes' on the ground indicate you are on the outside corridores-I think the room is 10 X 10. Also, always keep the bows/crossbows and scrolls/attacking books for your attacks.

Welcome to one of the 80s greatest games. You have a lot to learn but that's what makes this game so fun. I enjoyed it so much I bought a flashback system to relive my childhood with this game. The other D&D game is fun too don't recall its rename though.

Theres is a secret door on the treasure level on easy that will let you continue on the game instead of taking the easy level treasure. You continue on down ladders but the map wont reveal where you are anymore.

Anybody who didn't play this when it was released will never understand how us people who played it back then loved it. It looks so simplistic and arguably boring. But back then this was some pretty deep gameplay for a console. After playing it and learning it I always set to max levels and played for hours.

There is a way to cheat in this game, pick up a strength book and with an empty quiver attack a moderately difficult monster, let it almost (yes almost) kill you and use a very strong weapon to kill it. Upon resting you will quickly gain strength as its similar to fighting just as many monsters and uses less food.

next time you play, just keep going down to deeper levels even 40-50 floors. Get all the best potions and the one that lets you make your weapons into platinum. I used to love this game. As others mention: considering the simplicity of what the system could do, this game was really good. The deeper levels had the better potions/books/weapons.

Remember those "invisible monster" doors. Tan, pink and yellow, that one being the most powerful enemy in the game. Killing it is worth the effort: the Book of Midas! Which turns every war weapons into platinum! (Should have been gold!). Afterwhich, being super strong, only a bomb could get rid of you. Been once deep down to level 255; max level. Took me quite a few hours... to learn that after level 255 it's... level 1. All along those weak monsters. Duh! Loved that game!

You are getting rid of/keeping the wrong items. You don't know how to play this game not merely because you've never/hardly ever played it before; you don't know how to play this game because you have no common sense. And commentary on longplays is highly overrated & this video excruciatingly does a lot to prove that reality!

@Dude: Lol?! You, it's pretty obvious, didn't even do any research on the game before playing it; this time...which is to say even if you played it before, which is inconsequential whether or not you did. And how old a video is/how long ago it was made is also meaningless; that's a whataboutist straw-man argument. You lecturing anyone anyone else about common sense is so pathetic that, I find, that (it) is an excellent source of good comedy! Do. Research. On. A. Game. First. File that under " *Duh!* "; put that in the `" *Duh!* " File`! You're welcome!
