I had an A12. I really liked the sound signature and it does look cool. I didn't like the way you have to go into the menu's to change things like picking between A + B speakers. And, as much as I liked the look the faceplate is plastic and attracts dust and you need to be a bit careful cleaning as it will scratch. The only other things I wish they did was use higher quality knobs and use the same DAC in the A12 that they use in the A10 (AKM DAC). In my hifi journey I went from the Advanced Paris A12 to an Accuphase E-4000. I will say the A12 sounded a bit more powerful in the bass range and was more lively.

Hello Fellow Audiophiles And Friends: Thank you Captain Sub for this video. I personally have never heard of A P in my life. But since Bose purchased Macintosh and Sonus nothing surprises me. I've always wanted a complete Macintosh setup but since it's now under the Bose umbrella that got shot in the Butt. Thank you Lenny, Captain Sub for all you do, God Bless, and stay safe. People dissing the Advance Paris A12, are either lying about ever owning it, or lying about ever listening to it. I did an a/b with an Advance Paris A12, a Hagel H600, and a Unison Research Unico 150, and an Electrocompaniet ECI 6 DX MKII, and to me the Advance Paris A12 sounded the best and it wasnt close. And most of those Amps are almost 3x the price of the the A12. I also was not expecting the A12 to win the shootout either at all (before you say im biased). My next amp will be the A12 no question. Just a bunch of snobs on here tha want to sound all niche but have no clue what they are even talking about. Seriously, don't sleep on the A12. If you have a chance to go listen and compare, you won't regret it.

@@user-rg4xn3ib4c Yes they are not very expensive but housing of the case is very thin, cheap components inside, VU meters + lightning look a little cheap, the display from my amp was glued in crooked...some people claim they look like McIntosh, indeed maybe from 20ft away. Sound was underwhelming. In summary, I found zero proudness in owning these.

I've been subscribed to your channel for a couple of months now and enjoy the content. Decided to go to your website because you mentioned parasound. I'm trying to decide on components for a system. I'm currently making do with Denon stereo reciever with a pair of Klipsch Cornwall IV. For years I've wanted McIntosh and although I can afford it, I really can't justify the $12K - $15K for what I want. I pretty much settled on a Parasound P6/A21+ combo. Until I saw the AP equipment. Oh, and then there's PrimaLuna as a tube rig. So now I'm at Option Paralysis. I'm thinking i need to call you guys for a conversation/opinion.

I think that’s a good idea! We can go a little more in depth on both. Since we have used them with Cornwalls IV’s as well, we can provide real advice on the pairing and what to expect.

I use my roku tv as my streamer. I'm retired and only income is ss/ssi so i can't spend much. My speakers are cerwin vega at12s. I was using an old radio shack 100 watt per channel pa amp (made by pyramid) with no tone controls. The sound is amazing! It was giving me some trouble (which ended up solving itself) so i took a chance on a pyle pda8bu 5 channel reciever. It sounds just as good as the pa! And it plays as loud as the pa with total clarity! The best part is it only costs around $80 delivered! Look it up it might just be the be the bargain of the year! I'm using the at12s and some rca 40-5016 3 way acoustic suspension 8" bookshelf speakers.

First, thanks for the review. I had the Advance Paris A10 running a pair of Magnepan LRS+ with a Rel Tzero MkIII sub. The music source is a Cambridge Audio Azure 851N which I play FLAC files from an SSD. I also have a Rotel CD-11 Tribute CD player. Prior to the Advance Paris A10 I was running an Outlaw Audio RR2160 MkII. I purchased the A10 because the Outlaw seemed to be under powered with LRS+ which are a bit inefficient; however the bass response was good anyway. The Outlaw and the A10 are about the same wattage wise but I have to say that I was a bit disappointed with the A10's inability to push those LRS+; it seemed even more under powered than the Outlaw. However I think the A10 is a better sounding amp. The upper mids and highs are a bit pronounced and I like that but the bass seems to lack presence and muscle. I'm not a "bass head"; in other words I really don't care for room shaking bass. Particularly with the kind of music I predominantly listen to mostly jazz piano trios, straight jazz with acoustic instruments, upright bass, etc. With the Outlaw I really don't need the subwoofer; it's just there to add slightly more presence to the sound-stage, but with the A10 I absolutely have to use the subwoofer otherwise not much bass. Additionally with the A10, mellow jazz guitar on some tracks sound a little recessed and slightly distorted more than I've heard on other amplifiers. The A10's sound stage also seemed a little narrower that the Outlaw. The A10 is a lovely amp overall but I returned it. I've considered the A12 but I've read comments about the same thing, bass seems to be lacking a bit. I eventually purchased a Rotel RA 1592 MkII which was on sale for about the same price which has a lot of muscle and seems to work better for my needs. It's really difficult trying to make a decision when we don't have retail stores to check the sound out before purchases.

I have an A12 and use it to drive my B&W 703 S3s and SVS 3000 Micro sub. Sounds great, and I have yet to see the meters read 1W. I have had some difficulty getting the HDMI port to work reliably with my LG TV, but that seems to be an LG problem. I connect to the TV using optical. I have an old VRDS-20 CD player that I connect to the amp via balanced analog and coax inputs (I don't really hear any difference between them, but I'm getting old and my ears aren't what they used to be). Yes, there is white light surrounding all three knobs, and the power switch displays a white ring when power is on. Floor standing speakers are usually more efficient than bookshelf speakers, so the A10 should be fine with big floor standing speakers. OTOH, more power never hurts. The DAC in the A12 is a Burr- Brown (owned by TI) PCM1796. It sounds great to my ears, but so does the SMSL SU-1.

For you old codgers like me the Adv. Paris A10 at $2,500 would be equivalent to you spending $850 in the mid '80s. My brain is sort of hard wired to judge everything against what I paid for something in the '80s. Back then I bought a new PS Audio Elite Plus integrated amp for $600 and another $500 on an AR 'The Turntable' with a Linn Basik Plus arm. So that makes the AP A10 a decent deal, especially now.

People can like whatever they want, but my experience of owning an Advance Paris A10 Classic RA-1062 is that they are nowhere close. The Advance Paris is by far the best amplifier sonically I have ever had (after having two different NAD amps, a Musical Fidelity, and a NAD), so I am not sure what people looking down on it are comparing it to. For 1400 euros that I paid for it, it was a steal.
