It's honestly a really easy power for the opponent to exploit, since it always targets the most expensive grouping of units minus the cost of Sturm's own units within the blast radius. As a result, it's far more likely to go for a bunch of mechs in the corner of the map than it is to go after anything on the front line. Heck, the threat of meteor has more of an effect on the battle than the meteor itself, since while it effectively negates it, the mech pile strat does mean slightly fewer opposing units on the front lines.

Plus you don't need the entire blast zone filled - Meteor Strike's targeting algorithm _subtracts_ the amount of damage it would do to Sturm's units from the amount it would do to enemy units to determine the amount of damage it would do. As a result, Meteor Strike basically tends to not hit the front lines anyway if it has an alternative. Even just three enemy mechs in the middle of nowhere often ends up in a higher net value than a cluster of both friendly and enemy units for the purposes of Meteor Strike.

No, Caulder is that *_ONE_* CO that is pretty damn hard to beat. 50%+ to defense *_AND_* offense... on top of having a clone of Andy spamming Hyper Repair daily. Oh, the only saving grace is that his aura never exceeds 3, and his repairs cost funds. If he had a CO power, it'd be basically the Yu-Gi-Oh Exodia special effect. Tabita shows just how broken global 50%+ to defense and offense is in DoR. Sturm? His ability to ignore terrain costs is devastating to Grimm, let alone the added offense.

I always felt that Grimm was more the sort of commander who starts very aggressive, trying to shoot down as many enemy units as possible so you don't have to worry much about getting pushed back by the survivors, cause once the enemy has built up his defense and winds up their ranged units, Grimm gets a lot less of a threat.

There is this guy going by the name Grimm Guy and he has been wrecking face using Grimm. Normally Grimm is very hard to use because of the lowered defence, but this guy made it to the big leagues. Nobody knows who he really is since Grimm Guy is an alt, but it's fun the speculate.

In terms of balancing, his D2D is actually puts him in a slight disadvantage. To clarify, % based scaling is trickier than one may expect, especially bc it functions reciprocally. While he has +30% atk, -20% defense actually means he receives 40% more dmg, outweighing his perk. Think of it this way, a -50% def means that the CO's units effectively receive double dmg, discounting any atk buffs from enemy COs. If Grimm is to be balanced, he should only get -10% def, since it means his units now only deals 20% more dmg, making counterattack strats less punishing. Also, give him that extra 10% atk & 20-30% extra def on his super power, (idk why they give him only +90%, atk doesn't make sense to me).

you can make grimm rank up to 10 by playing to give him extra buffs, i think you can give him extra 13% overall defense to his units to make it less punishing for him

His only remaining draw is his CO Power set, which is surprisingly good but nothing compared to juggernauts like Covering Fire, Tower Shield, Ex Machina, Hyper Upgrade, Samurai Spirit, Counter Break (AW2/AWBW) or Super Snipe.

Trades46 Yeah, I do find it funny that she's basically more and more like Kanbei to finally make her useful. Though it does show why Kanbei's still the main leader and Sonja's only the advisor at best. I mean without Fog, Kanbei's basically all around better than Sonja, especialy as far as the computer is concerned. Oh and it was AW 2 where she got better counter damage, but the defense star does help a lot. Ironically, Kanbei ALSO got increased counter damage and already has a natural 2 defense Star boost ON TOP of the boost he gets from the actual defense stars in the first place. XD All cause his units cost a quarter of a day's worth more cash.Pair him with Colin and ... What weakness? or as Colin says (one of my favorites), "Let me do the buying!"

Originally I was very offput by compression, but now I don't care as much. Like sure, it makes the theme worse, just like Koal's and the others, which is very unfortunate for such absolute bangers, but they still slap. I still don't know the point of this CO. Not talking about the story/plot. There almost isn't any CO that has low defense (except for Sturm in AW1), but there are many COs that boost attack. I think Grimm should have some unique ability to himself. He's just like a Kanbei with less defense and normal price unit, or a Sturm without free movement. He gives me a feeling that he's just another big attacker, like Max. At least Sonja is the only CO who specializes in FoW and hides her HP, Drake with his fuel draining, Eagle with the ability move again, Sami with her instant capturing.

I think Grimm would be cool if his CO power mitigated his drawbacks rather than emphasizing his strengths. Something like making all units able to attack at full strength or all units can't be brought below 1HP for a turn would make his playstyle really interesting.

he's a hybrid of Strum's DBD attack n Defense, but takes Max's as his super/power. honestly probobly really cool all things considered. and i'd say go look into "Grimm Guy" he's really turning heads with how he's destroying it as Grimm in Advanced Wars By Web.

Grimm is bad solo because his power doesn't grant him movement. If you go into the free-associative nightmare world that is Tag CO PVP he's a monster, esp in a TAG Skills meta. He's a great 2nd stringer because of skills like mistwalker and access to partners like Adder, Jess, or Eagle who can help him close distances.

@@DarkSoulsSauron what Grimm needed to be good was the same thing most COs got, a OP passive. Like 30% boost is not worth risking 20% less defense. What he needed was a true haymaker like 40-50% power Aw1 max style and maybe more movement but to offset he has 30% less defense, now his title 'lightning' can actually apply.

@@anafu-sankanashi8933 nah; Grimm is fine. he's literally a glass version of Kanbei, and having to revolve around Sonya's style of "strike first" and Max's "Strike hard" and even when that's not really a thing being smart is better then "running head long into death" as everyone things Grimm needs to be.
