Great guide as always. I hate healing, it gives me anxiety to no ends. but disc priest has always captured me, even though I"m a Ret main, I haven't enjoyed Holy paladin for a while, even though I did prefer glimmer. still though disc has just felt more natural to me as a dps main. So I always end up with that itch that needs scratching and low and behold i'm lvling up and looking to put some gear on to my Belf disc priest.

Another think i love my shaman so much for is how fucking tough he is. A fucking totem went off on stone vault 11 last night killed everyone but me and the tank and i was able to keep us both alive while the dps caught back up with us and prevented a full wipe. That could almost never happen on my priest.

Well yea, the shaman has like 2x more CDs, abilities, literally an answer for any problem while the priest is only a few buttons and everything needs to be perfect. Shaman can fix mistakes, priest can't. I know disc is becoming the meta more and more, but shaman is just outright a better and easier healer, the only thing disc brings to the team is PI and extra damage and needs the rest of the team needs to control every mob and mechanic perfectly for it to work.

​@markosz22 look at the top keys. Disc is just plain stronger than shaman. My shaman is working on 14-15s rn and I dont get any invites anymore. Everyone wants a priest for good reason. Its just op in high keys.

​@@jonathanjudenberger613 Top keys are a different beast. When everyone is performing well and min-maxed the disc priest only has to heal the minimum and just bring PI. Plus teams are built around the limitations of the priest. No interrupt, no CR, no poison or curse remove, bad spot healing, etc...

I've been getting use to this macro and really like it /cancelaura Entropic Rift /cast Mind Blast If I don't want to waste a radiance charge I can collapse my rift on demand ( when atonments are falling off, or when I need a instant burst of healing). One could do an alt modifier if they are afraid of spam clicking and poping the rift too early but I find Mind Blast to not be a skil that happens much due to its cast time.

I'm sure you know this, but you can LoS the DoT from the minibosses in Dawnbreaker -- makes them TRIVIAL and then you can run normal talents everywhere.

Challenge there is that the mini boss can cast it on melee too so they’d have to be los’ing to properly ignore it bc she spam casts. Great in a caster comp but also don’t want to lose too much uptime

@AutomaticJak yep have to tank her right next to a wall/corner or melee get sent to shadow lands. As a fragile wee healer though, I always LoS it to prevent myself from dying and try to keep the group alive. 👍

It retargets unless you get lucky with spell queuing, I think lining works best if you get picked and don’t have any defensives left vs trying to line every single one

as a new disc I am doing 1.2 mil hps on packs when there are heavy dmg and finishing the dungeon around 600k hps. Do you know what keys I am running? 5! I mean wth? lower keys are cancer. I like to play disc but when things out of control then I dont know what to do because people dont even care to use DEFs pots etc.

Your next fastest option is to > Flash heal someone else, this will apply atonement to them and YOU because Binding Heal (a passive you talent into in your class tree) will apply atonement to you even if you Flash Heal an off target >Then proceed to Power Word Shield or Renew the 3 remaining party members that don't have atonement This takes 4 globals, so it must be done BEFORE the damage is going out! Disc priest is all about prepping your atonements before the group wide damage is being dealt. If you have no atonements up, and your group is taking damage, you are already behind. Hope this helped

I love my disc priest, but they will never have the instant on demand heals my shaman has. But its alot harder than shaman so i like to play i alot.

How do you deal with your team not always being stacked/near each other? When I cast Radiance, it won't affect them all since they're not nearby, and I usually have to individually cast renew/shield on them so they can also gain the benefit of atonement. And this all feels super inefficient :(

Radiance applies atone off your target to players within 30 yards. Often I’ll position my character within 30 yards of everyone to cast radiance and have it hit everyone. Standing in between the ranged and the melee makes it much easier

I moved away from it long ago because it was difficult to customize to show/hide effects that would drive my decision making. When someone uses a personal, when someone is targetted by a cast, when someone has a debuff etc. Cell makes all these things really easy and has a very intuitive interface which is a big reason why I swapped to it from Vuhdo.

Definitely check out Cell! Quazii has a Cell profile you can use as a great starting point and a Cell video to walk you through all the settings so you can feel confident about adjusting his profile to your liking! I did this for my shaman and now I’m tweaking the profile for my disc priest needs as well!

Fade is 10% damage reduction and flash heal is another 10% dr. Fade is not on the gcd so you can easily macro it with a simple macro /cast fade /cast flash heal [@player] That's 20% dr on either 1 cast or instant with the proc You can do the same with fade/shield if you want. The 20% 10 sec stacked dr is awesome and super worth it as spriest also. And its technically on a 20-30sec cd depending on talents

Not as high io as jak but I am 3.1 io and the reason I wouldn't run shield build is because you need the burst AoE healing harsh discipline gives on 2nd/4th boss. Could maybe go shield build if you were running with an Aug that increased survivability but when you're solo with no external help, youre 1 global away from dying on some of these hard hitting AoE abilities

Best thing you can do is take the time to intimately customize your bigwigs so you don’t get alarm fatigue from it and are only tracking the specific “scary ability” you care about sending CDs on. You can adjust where the ability bar is sitting so you see a countdown of when it’s coming, customize the sound it makes for your needs, etc. Also the Mythic+ weakaura for this season makes many of the bigwigs alerts unneeded or duplicated unnecessarily!

Its always SO hard trying to follow all these big WoW players because they have the literal most horrififying, disgusting, and jarring action bar layout with nothing at all looking like someone who plays with a default WoW UI uses like me. First of all, you might be not having enough haste. And if you're somehow out of sync and have cd's on everything, u can just press UP and heal the whole party for a few secs. That's a good emergency button, but for better healing you have to put Aton on party before that.
