I think it all comes down to personal preference.Personally I left foot brake as I feel more comfortable and safer because when i right foot brake I feel like there is something really going wrong at that moment

My girl gets mad that I left foot brake. I gave her the analogy of why anyone would expect me to swing my right foot over from my kick drum pedal to my high hat pedal, It’s just insane. I can’t be the only one driving with two feet. By God’s grace I’ve avoided 3 or 4 collisions with knuckle head drivers, I highly attribute it to my left foot braking. God Bless. I know this video pertains to racing, I’m I’m talking my rationality behind my driving, I feel truly in control of my vehicle when driving with both feet.

KLEFUS MCDONALD same dude. With a background in drumming, especially with a double pedal. It’s way easier for me to use both feet instead of the one

Same! Been a drummer before learning how to drive. I really have full control of my car using two feet! Two feet driving is, for me, not wrong. Most of the people just don't know the logic behind it! Still, to everyone, drive safely.

3 pedals: Both techniques can be used depending on the track and car. Right foot breaking can also preserve brakes on endurance races. Two pedals: Left foot braking for sure. It's so fascinating in how many different way you can use both technique on the same car. Nobody spoke about the learning process. Kart drivers are probably the only one that learn how to left foot braking properly, especially on wet condition with only rear brakes and slicks tyres. Best school in the entire world !

in my country where traffic is awful, always bumper to bumper, i use left foot brake, its more efficient than right foot brake.but i guess there is one disadvantage, if you are panic then you may have chance in accident.

+Zakir Sajib You really shouldn't be maintaining such a close distance in traffic. If you allow yourself to coast with ample room between yourself and the car in front then you allow yourself a less stressful commute, and you dissipate congestion.

+Zakir Sajib If you always left foot brake and never right foot brake, your muscle memory is to always press the brake with your left foot, even in a panic (because your right foot doesn't even know how to brake anymore). I would say it is less change of an accident because you don't need to know which pedal your foot is over. Left leg always over brake, right leg always over gas.

Leave room in front and drive well and you do not panic, I always left foot brake in an automatic, and usually right foot brake in a manual. strange how reaction times vary, I find that by leaving room in front, if the car in front stops fast I have plenty of time and usually only need to brake gently which helps if some idiot is too close behind. I first learnt to left foot brake with a manual gearbox for racing it is quicker and clutchless gear changes work well with a bit of practice, So the clutch was really just used for starting off.

On track I'll left foot brake for trail braking (still learning how to properly modulate that!) but on the road in my track car I'll still right foot brake. I think it's just training your mind.

Tries left foot breaking for the first time and headbutts the steering wheel at 45mph

Why are people commenting about this as if this relates to daily driving and accident avoidance? 😂 Clearly this topic is about racing not your daily commute.

Yeah I mean I can do in a normal car even accounting for the change in pressure due to the brake booster on road car changing vacuum, but its really silly to cover the brake with your left foot imo for daily driving...and probably tiresome...like I just want to sit back and cruise when driving on the street. If you feel the need to left foot brake on the street....you're probably not looking ahead or predicting things happening. PLUS, in a roadcar you're not strapped in with a harness....you really should be using your left foot to brace yourself if you have to swerve...

Honestly its all preference, some people find it more logical to brake with the left foot so its make the driving more comfortable and feel more safe for them....moral of the story do what makes you feel comfortable dont do what people tell you because then u make it safer for others as well if u feel more comfortable driving the way u want😭💯

V8 Supercar drivers be like what are these guys talking about lol.... To be a fully rounded driver you need to know how to do both at an elite level unless your only driving a specific vehicle.

My dad told me from the very beginning not to use my right foot only. He said my left foot would only be needed if I learned to drive manual. Just learned to drive manual recently and can't picture using my left foot for anything other than the clutch

None of these people drive real cars. No clutch. Traction control, stability control. Open wheelers.. obviously you're going to left foot brake with a useless left foot. Fucking hell
