It gets tricky when you are still estimating as to how small the interval must be to be instantaneous. When you learn calculus you will be able to calculate the actual irc which is -0.4875

Are you in Ontario? What exactly do you mean? Triangles on a plane? Identifying types of triangles by side lengths? I have videos on the entire gr 10 Ontario curriculum.

Do you also teach data management and in your experience is calculus easier than functions because I did well in functions but I am still worried calculus may be a nightmare ?

Calculus is not that difficult. I think if you did well in advanced functions that you will find it quite manageable. (Especially with my lessons!). I do not have a data management text book! And I only taught it twice 😊

First of all, Thank you for this practice test Ms.Havrot! For question 13, can you also just cross multiply and solve for x?

You should not cross multiply because you need to make sure that you are only solving for real roots. Remember that there will be restrictions in the denominator that may become roots when you cross multiply.

@@mshavrotscanadianuniversit6234 No worries, I ended up figuring it out! But basically part c) asks for how much they charge per slice and part d) asks for the profit per slice if the original price of the pizza was $10 instead of $12. My answer for c) was $2 per slice and for d) $0.75 per slice.

Yes you are correct. I said square root ten which is approximately plus and minus 3 not root 3

You are trying to find the rate of change per 100 so you divide the 400/100 to get 4 and then the 4.01 is the incremental change to approximate the instantaneous rate of change.
