Thanks Nancy, great information as always! I got a Go Press and Foil before the others were available. I’m delighted that the glimmer plates and foils work beautifully with it. Hugs and blessings.

Nancy I have learned so much from this video. I have watched your foiling one video and I bought the Gemini hot foil machine. Haven’t used it yet because I am still looking for the foils for them. But definitely going to buy the solid plate to use up the extra foil that remains. Thank you and yes I signed up to the snobs club thank you for accepting me.😀

Get hot foils from Bluebonnet Foil Rgv on Facebook. They are only $5 for a longer roll and she ships all over.

@@NancyStamps I don’t mind a long video especially when it is filled with soooo much good information. I’ve been wanting a foil press machine for a few years now but was never sure which one to get. Well you sealed the deal with the Gemini. I was leaning towards that one because I not only have arthritis but a bum shoulder. I have the Gemini Jr and the big mama too. I have the platinum 6 but it’s getting harder and harder on me. Thanks again!😀

Nancy I am new to foiling, I have the Gemini Foil Press and Gemini Jr. The first time I used it the plastic shim that goes on top warped the first time I used it. Is that normal? I had it set to the lowest heat setting. I just want to be sure I am not doing something wrong. If it warps that fast must need a couple of them handy. I have learned so much from you. Please keep the videos coming.
@NancyStamps2 жыл бұрын
You can only use the Foil press heat safe foiling plastic shim. Not the white plastic shim that comes with the Gemini Jr machine.

Hammermill used to have the frog, and the chameleon is the current branding. I called Hammermill directly and they told me that. I have both the frog packaging and the chameleon and they feel the same and work the same for me.

I found a video where someone could make dies hot foil with thicker lines!! She used crafter companion wax paper, "quick release paper" i think it was. She put the die down, then the quick release paper, then the hot foil down and it foiled like a hot foil plate! She discovered it by foiling a piece of the glimmer foil that had that darn tape spellbinders uses to tape their brand new rolls. She didnt remove the tape before foiling and that part where the tape was was a thicker line than the rest, she experimented and that quick release paper worked !!!!! Ive been wanting to try!

I saw that too and want to try it!

I have to watch the replay, it is always great to see you have fun live with everyone watching. My kiddo got sick yesterday so I was really busy. Did you know that when I click your link to your Amazon shop that it lasts for 24 hours? I guess provided I don't venture out to another link, not sure. Watched a great girl that mentioned that. I will send you a pm. I need to ask you something anyway. Did you get a VW? I have a TDI Beetle

Have you seen the new Sizzix Big Shot electronic die machine? Will you be testing it? I wonder if it will work with the Glimmer hot foil machine?

If you can find a Gemini Foilpress at a good price, but it has been discontinued. So Glimmer might be best way to go.

Nancy!!! Help. I have am infrared temp gun and my glimmer gets to about 210ish max but it top left hand corner it only hearts to about 160.. ive had trouble foiling and now that ive temped my glimmer I think I know why.. an you use that gun and temp all around the gray part of yours and tell me what y get ? I have that sane temp gun u have. I may have to see if spellbinders will try to fix the heading element in mine

Original Temps I had: Glimmer 1= 244 degrees, Foilpress Low = 173, Med = 183, High = 200. New Glimmer = 227 in the middle, it did drop in the corners and varied. So the middle is the hottest area. You might want to leave it on longer & shim it for those you have too big on the corner. I think this is normal.
