5:05 I fully agree. Every Class has an ability that helps others. The sad thing is just that you rarely see people use their Class to the fullest. Allot of the time Scout players do not shoot up a Flare first thing when the swarm hits, Drillers do not use their Drills to the fullest by clearing out bad terrain like pillars in the center of the room and generally flatten the area or drilling shortcuts, Engineers not use their Platforms to plug holes in unruly terrain or shoot up some platforms to a wall so bugs not run strait down there... giving you some place where you not get swarmed from all sides... and Gunners often only use their Shields when they revive when you can use it for the team, like when you see someone tries to resupply in the midst of a swarm... or two or more players get cornered by a ton bugs... a good Gunner player will use the shield for the team not just for themselves.

As someone who "only" has 80 hours in It but bought the game 2018, I always played the driller and some dudes always told me how good i am clearing those paths, making little holes for us when the swarm hits so the gunner can just shoot all his ammo in one direction instead of 12, drilling to the escape pod and such things. I always thought that would be normal but after over 50 friend requests I know, to finalize my comment in a starship trooper manier: "I am doing my part"

I completely agree with you about the scout, but maybe you could have mentioned how scout is better off going for special kills rather than normal grunts. I feel like a lot of players hate on scout for his low ammo count, when they're the ones wasting it on grunts that driller or gunner can easily deal with.

@@lossnt557 not really, if you read all of the comments on scout videos, especially the masterclass. 99 percent of them are "scout is for special enemy kills. Nothing else" and people still believe this even though the scout has so many builds. Crowd control, waves, aggro, etc Nobody was talking about how the scout is the best class until 2022 and even now it's not a concensus. Any solid engie or gunner will argue that to the death.

It's really amazing the world of difference knowing your class makes, and likewise having teammates that know their class. I can struggle to clear a haz 3 when my teammates are all doing their own thing, ignoring objectives, and wasting time and ammo, but then clear a EDD in 40 min with no downs when I get a full team of lv 200+ players. It's truly special when everyone just knows what needs to be done and you can trust them to do it.

the time management thing is so important. A lot of multiplayer lobies like to take their sweet time doing things in inneficient ways. Like mining every patch of nitra on the map before opening a single dreadnough egg, so you have to backtrack the entire map

Can you imagine if the scout's flare gun actually gave a mechanical buff? Even just a tiny one? Like maybe causing a 2% chance of a fear effect on any enemy that takes damage within it's radius, or conferring a 2% accuracy buff to all dwarf weapons with an accuracy modifier.

I love to make fun of scout IQ, but he's also my main. I get that feeling like I'm playing doom and my hands are working with my brain 3-4 steps ahead at all times.. Zip there, power attack, spin, jump, shoot flare, switch to shotgun, zip, bang. Being so mobile and fast keeps my mind multitasking. It's exhilarating to BE the zippity.

Just other day I used Gemini and defender system, thinking "it's +5 in both of them. It's a bigger DPS than mkII, and the extra bullets of the Gemini also adds the total damage potential." Later on a mission, we had a mactera swarm. I set both towers with the back to a wall, in a long cave. Ended up cackling like an evil genius the whole swarm.

Hoverboots and the wider hitbox mod for the pickaxe makes solo scout farming way easier. You can almost get everything without an engineer.

The auto cannon does friendly fire now after nov. 4 but only for direct hits with the bullets not the splash.

Sadly, the auto-cannon isn't as friendly as it used to be. Direct hits now deal damage to allies so you do have to be a bit careful at least where you send your shots. (All the more reasons to play Carpet Bomber when playing with people that get in your way :) )

The Scout: Also statistically the least skilled player. Twitchy, yolo-solo FPS kids are drawn to the scout and will usually die somewhere hard to get to, doing something pointless, because they cant stay near doretta to keep her speed up (ADHD is a b*tch) or they are whining about "EnGI, i DOnT KnOW hoW tO PlaY Gam, PLaTFERmz Pl0X" when they could grapple above it and mine down. Oh, and them being miles from the team and calling Molly when THEY HAVE MOVEMENT TOOLS....oooooh boy (yeah, play molly tug-o-war with the host.....doit.....). Scouts are the most common class chosen by FAR (My evidence is anecdotal in that I start all missions solo and the first person that joins is a scout 95% of the time...often making me lament the loss of a more useful BOSCO). I have seen some great scouts when they realize they are with a team and, while rare, realize they can do scouting. The Driller: Driller starts as an expert player and usually only get better from there. Drillers are always there for the team in every game I can remember having one around. When you see a driller Toss his axes at the wall to make stairs to get up into a little side cave, clear it, them grab them on the way down...chefs tongue-kiss. When you are on the race back to the pod and he doesnt drill strait, but runst up the path a little ways, digs out a wall to a side tunnel, runs a bit more and does it again and uses 4 driller fuel to cut 2miles off the run back...king. Using the flamethrower to clear toxic clouds, goo to melt explodybastards(tm), ice gun in lavaland to take advantage of temp-shock near lava geysers. Thank your drillers for their service! Engi: I main engi, so this should be completely unbiased. The Engi is the main character and is flawless in every way. That is all. Gunner: A great class for supporting your team if your team supports you. I think the only bad gunner stuff I have seen was the gunner that wastes ammo on something the scout or railgun engi can almost weakspot-oneshot or whenever I see an engi's banana-bridge over a large gap where a zip should have been (or a zip where a digger ramp or engi stairs should go). Other than that, these tend to be the FPS kids that actually know more than bunnyhop+click on faces. Great vid and a fun watch. I am kinda binging through your stuff while too blah to game. *thumbsup*

I love scout players. Expecially when they team kill me and insult me for not placing the damn platform where they wanted after 5 seconds of waiting, in the difficulty 2 where we have all the time we want. Or first they team kill me and then kick me out while someone else is reviving me... I never EVER had problems with other classes this game, as it is always Scouts that like to boss around other players like they are there not to have fun, but to serve them as Boscos... There are some really great dudes that actually use Scouts to help the other teammates, but this class is usually a jerk magnet as it allows selfish people to be as selfish as they want. I would love if there were some anti-grief measures implemented to punish players that kill teammates and kick other players. There should be a vote option for kicking out players.

As a Scout Main I appreciate all the love and another good mechanic I feel like the game doesn't teach is you don't even need an engineer's platforms as Scout. Just grapple below/above the ore vein, then power attack, if you don't make it in the divit you just created, hover boot on the way down then grapple up again.
