You provide some of the most crucial information young producers need to take their quality to the next level. So many professionals have a tendency to rush through their masterclass tutorials, leaving small gaps in the process which leave aspiring young producers feeling frustrated and confused. While you clearly show enthusiasm, excitement and passion, you don't get carried away and teach with a patient pace making it easy to follow everything step by step meaning we can even follow along in a live environment with ease and immediate results. I'm using Cubase and it's still easy to follow along. Also I have just today upgraded to 11 from 8.5 to get the MIDI key scale folding you've been teaching in other tutorials. That has improved my chord game, especially when considering the speed of workflow, tremendously... Thank you! Showing people what VSTs to use and how to use them from scratch. So many professionals run through their tutorials making it comparative to adverts on TV where you hear them go through the 'Terms & Conditions Apply' 4 times faster than the rest of the advert. You see their VST presets for a split second though don't get to hear how it's affecting each sound from start to finish.

This is great about the sidechaining the original vocals into the reverb aux. Top examples.

You can also turn an audio clip/simpler/sampler/VST in ableton into an Instrument Rack. Then inside the Instrument Rack, right click in the blank space and select "create chain". This creates a duplicate of the original instrument. Apply processing and FX to the duplicate copy then use the gain/volume control to mix the processed version with the original version. No need for confusing/clunky FX sends and much easier to bounce down to audio/freeze and flatten. :)

It would have been nice to see both techniques, even if you prefer one. And in fact, there is another one technique since you can create an instrument rack and do parallel processing inside it.

Hi EDM, what would you do if you also want to put a glue compression on the drums but also a parallel compression ? Can I also use 2 tracks with the same drums and compress 1 track for more punch and then going to a glue compression buss afterwards with the two tracks of the drums ? Thanks in advance, you're doing a great job here on KZbin !!! 👍

Thanks for this! I'm wondering... how do you do this during a live performance? Do you have this same setup, with a laptop running backing tracks in ableton? And perhaps the tracks are going to Sends Only, with more Return tracks that handle your output channels..... and these PARA return tracks feed into those output Return tracks? Or something? I'm confusing myself. The issue is, I don't use Master while performing live. I just use return tracks, for channel routing...

So when you do this.. the volume of the tracks go up, correct? How do you handle the gain on tracks that you put through parallel compression? Do you lower the gain on the original track, or just lower the output of the return tracks?
@nacimbakhai55433 жыл бұрын
Thank you for the great video.... Still can't understand how it is more flexible using a return track (aux).

As you can feed more than one signal into an aux channel, and to the degree that you want
@kriusician14053 жыл бұрын
In this method, we need to do the mixing in the auxilliary channel and keep the original vocal track raw right ?

Is this the same as adding multiple chains in an effects rack, ie. one dry and then different chains for the various effects
