Perfect ending. If you want advanced pathfinding you need to use pathfinding links, Costs, pathfinding modifiers and maybe animations.

Everyone please stop asking for a tutorial. This is quite a simple thing to do that is well documented for roblox. This pathfinding is great for chase scenes where the player could place obstacles or shut doors behind them, etc.

Make it able to swerve, detect lines of fire, and duck into cover. Then give it the ability to hear. Then give it the ability to aim. Finally give it the ability to instil fear in all players. That'd be fun in an fps! (BTW, if it does aim, make it purposefully miss the first time you get out of cover, its more fair, or dont make them miss if you hate your players.)

I love the new modifiers. Now we just need Roblox to add truss support. (Oh and also the service accounting for max slope angle, collision groups, and also make it so it can return the closest position to the target position like it did before) Edit: Truss support has been added!

You can sort of simulate this via a bug albeit it looks a bit weird. Basically what you're going to do is go to the Models tab then into the collision groups and make a new one called "Navigation Assister" or something. Whatever you want to name it. Then untick all the boxes so it collides with nothing and put a wedge that stretches up to the top of the truss in-front of the truss so the pathfinding thinks it can walk up the wedge (MAKE SURE THE WEDGE HAS THE NAVIGATION ASSISTER COLLISION GROUP!). If this is too confusing then sorry I suck at explaining lol. I can give a .rbxl file as an example

you can use pathfindingmodifiers, then make a hitbox of the door and detect if it got touched with region3 or a touched function

@@chrome1018 Yeah, but you have to admit, EP's AI is a lot better than most roblox games anyway, because they actually go to cover, ideally every game would have really cool AI, but sometimes its hard or not possible. IDK how well EP would run with AI like this anyway, it might crash, it can already lag sometimes.

The door kicking animation needs to be faster because currently it looks kinda slow and weird, also if you do that the kick might look a bit more powerful so maybe instead of the door flinging open, the door gets kicked off the hinges

I like your kicking animation, it looks perfect. I saw that the door opens quite slowly for a kick, maybe you can make the door swing open faster. I’m not a master at animation, I just wanted to point that out.

I thought that that door was one of the community doors that the play would automatically kick down (like in the video) when near it. So I'm thinking they made the AI able to trigger the door like a player, which is cool.

TLDR : animation is cool, could possibly be used on horror games. just picture this, you find a new and upcoming "horror zombie game" you look it up its reviews and it says its scary and you think to your self "surely its not that scary its probably just one of those cash grab zombie rush knock off" so you play it after I while you start to get bored as there are no enemy to be seen and then you hear *boom* *bang* *boom* it seemed like somebody or something was banging on the door and then suddenly *CRASH* the door breaks and a scary looking npc with absolutely terrifying animations come after you.

At first I was thinking about how cool it was that the AI could find the specific door required to path find between two separate spaces Then I realized the way I was thinking this works is way too complicated and that you could easily just not separate the two spaces and instead have the AI react in a specific way whenever it gets close to a door it's about to walk through

I'm imagining how terrifying this would be in things like Midnight Horrors if there were interactable doors and objects on there. Just imagine thinking you're safe because the characters like Vippy and Retro Killers and sphere can't go through doors and then hearing *the sound of three doors slamming open almost immediately after each other and a really smart AI speeds in and guns you all down*
