Hi. does a kart with brakes only on the back axle still have the same trail braking capabilities?

absolutely, but I think the balance of letting off brake, turn, and gradual acceleration (and getting the transition or finding the perfect point where you slowly release the brake pedal, while applying accel, is extremely important regarding how it effects the chassis). If you get it right, the rewards are huge and it is actually much easier/smoother to drive.

Yeah trailbraking with any kart is actually way easier and more responsive(gut feeling like) than with any car. So if you race karts thats a good base to learn almost any driving technique thats not related to shifting.
