There is also a Moon Master cancel technique, that staggers enemies super fast. You will need a Moon Katana, or Demon Cutter with Moon Master for it to work.

@@dermitdemdawodiewar if you haven’t figured it out already. You hold triangle in the moon stance, release, quickly tap circle then triangle, circle - triangle, circle. In kind of a horse gallop Rhythm. I did it first try, it’s very easy, you’ll get it easy. There’s loads of videos.

Nice vid. Cool techs. I just feel like people need to know that you can still be awesome in this game without relying to any of this cancel stuff. I feel like it takes the cool and enjoyment out of my experience and starts to feel more like a chore and a race. Then again I´m not trying to break any speedrun records, I just like to play and have a good time.

For the first cancel you can just press the buttons at the same time (works for me atleast)

You can actually train the slash move. Enter blood in the snow. Go into the house right where you spawn. There is a table on the right side. Jump onto the table und you can train both moves. And thx for this video!

I think I discovered that if you press alternatively square and triangle quite fast you hit faster. It accelerate attack animation.

Hi, does adding more 12% melee damage on weapon, 12% kunai, etc. + 25% melee damage equip with samurai skill does more damage with the animation cancelling attack?

I think the samurai injured resolve build. Gives the most sustain and is super forgiving

I thought you might also show Moon Master Cancel, Reload Cancel, and Sprint Cancel too. Ps: Moon Master Cancel has higher DPS and does amazing stagger damage, in case anyone was curious.

Not to sound like a hater or maybe I am just confused but these styles of attacks seem no better than a regular surging strike. Plus you got fucked up in most of the video which makes the game play look pretty ineffective. I know you compared the speed of the moves to surging strike but without having to use it butttttt why not just use surging strike? It's 5 fast attacks and you don't have to use all 5 you can still dodge oni attacks (better than in this video) It just seems like a strech.....different isn't always better.

Thanks I'll try get better footage next time. But this tech is something worth learning. As mentioned in the video 1) more raw DPS due to no end animation 2) can use ANY katana stance 3) does more DMG to health rather than guard.

@@GooshyG Thanks for clarifying. Sorry if I came off as negative. Has this been compared to surging strike when each strike gets stronger with each attack? (Perk I forgot name) also if you use square after the surging strike you can get like an 8 hit combo with decent speed without having to charge up for another surging strike. A low power enemy gets killed by this alone pretty much and any oni you would have to dodge there counters so staying in the pocket for that series of attacks doesn't seem valid. I have not put any of this in practice so I could be wrong it just seems like that is the case...

@@GooshyG I played around with it for a little.. I appreciate the upload but I am not sold (yet at least) needing super armor to attack low level enemies makes this viable for like raid only and even then idk. When I look at the list of skills almost everything is better than super armor except maybe impactful throws and health increase. And using any katana you want sounds nice on paper but with this build you are avoiding stagger damage and focusing on attacking health so that makes all non legendary swords out the window because now you are only trying to get the perk of the sword NOT the stagger. Which to me really leaves two sword options which is stone striker for heavanly strike or Masamunes edge for 20% chance of double damage. 20% doesnt happen very often...on heaven sting the 20% chance to instantly kill a non oni will sometimes activate like one time in a full inventory of darts. Unless you just prefer a stance that isn't water that is really the options. And why throw away the best stance just to have this? I would just use both. And the note you make about attacking the health and not guard being better. That seems very situational or for solo play. If you break an enemy guard and fully stagger them they just stand there and do nothing. This will help your team not get hit since the oni is now useless and make the oni stand still allowing your team members to land more shots. I think these attacks have a place and time but to only attack using this method seems weaker than a balanced attack.

@@GooshyG I would love to hear your feedback! I did get a little better at the animation canceling attacks I do like them. I do wanna say though as far as animation canceling on a surging strike you can do triangle x4 (don't do the 5th and last strike in surging strike) then square three times is a 7 hit combo before any animation. Or you can just land the 6 to avoid it. But it is pretty strong and I would say pretty easy to do.

Oh yeah that was my go to for a while. It’s just another tool to add to your move list. Up to you if you wanna use it or not. Maybe I’ll do exact damage calcs on it later but idt there’s that much of a difference within 7 hits.

More info on these: More downside to The L3 square R1 move is you can totally lose your kuni or sticky doing it 😂 The L3 square R1 kill enemies faster the circle square one. You can use the square circle during duel like Iyo and on the main story but not the one since you can’t use R1 during a duel.
