Embellishment is a slight degree of exaggeration and a euphemism for a few added untruths.

I used to have lots of blemishes on my face when I was younger. I would press all the cotent out of them but it usually led to swelling and appearance of even more zits. Pimples are still a problem though. I don't embellish if I say I am trying really hard to get rid of this nuisance every day. But blemishes just come again and again. The worst of them are ones that contain pus. Sometimes you press such a zit and a stream of pus bursts out and mars the mirror and then goes down your face or cheek. Without embellishing I say it is really satisfying.
