Words like equivocate, inculcate are easier to understand for a french speaker given the fact that they have the exact same meanings as équivoque and inculquer

Thank you for this lesson, Lisa! To be honest, I wasn’t sure about the meaning of the verb “to rally”, and I didn’t know the meaning of the verb “to equivocate”. But although I knew all the other words, I don't think my English is "excellent". In fact, I still need to learn a myriad of new words and expressions in order to achieve a truly advanced level. Kind regards, Anna

Hey, Ms Lisa! The following just came to mind: What about tackling single versus compound words that might sound slightly or very similar to foreigners? Example: “Let Us versus Letters or Lettuce”. Try finding a short video of a Spanish speaking mother asking her 3 kids for the English word for the green “thing” in the sandwich. She meant to say Lettuce but she said Letters. The kids’ reaction was interesting. And I just remembered it while trying to say “Let Us” in a song. lol!

'harness' has its origin in work with animals, e.g. to harness an animal, a horse normally or an ox or a huskie, then it is also been used for security when using belts in cars or planes
