9:51 A checkbox is not able to change a protected cell. It will give you the error "the cell or chart you're trying to change is on a protected sheet. To make a change, unprotect the sheet." I have been looking for a way around that for a long time without needing to use vba. The same goes for other form controls that link to cells in this manner.

Ah yes, I'm sorry for this oversight! Without vba you can do it like this - link the checkbox to a cell in a helper column that you will later hide, then right-click the linked cell, go to Format Cells... > Protection tab > uncheck Locked and then hit OK on that window. Now, link your formulas to the cell that is linked to the checkbox and then, when finished, hide the helper column and then protect the worksheet. This should get you around that issue and it will prevent the user from unhiding the helper column. Thank you for pointing this out!

Something i can't wrap my head around is _why_ when the formula in Data Validation (05:47) equals the cell in A1, any text is allowed when the box is checked. I imagined the data restriction to allow the word "TRUE" when checked and "FALSE" when unchecked. But the Data Validation is allowing any text to be entered when checked and no text when the box is unchecked. I wonder what your thoughts are. Thank you for the vid, btw, I followed through completely, my thoughts above are more out of curiosity than actually trying to "solve" something.

If I have 3 checkboxes, and I only want to allow the user to be able to set one checkbox as true at a time. So, when the user selects a checkbox (set as true) the other two checkboxes need to be set to false. Can this be done with the checkbox function, setting one check box to true, which then sets the other two checkboxes to false?

Hello Thank you for this tutorial, it is very useful for me. I have a question about this type of rule in the Excel file. If I have to do an excel where I have to use 3 or more checkboxes and these 3 checkboxes have to be accepted by three different people and I want these people to have access to only one box and not the rest of two checkboxes, how can I do this? All these tutorials are useless to me because they all do something that deletes your undo (ctrl+z) history.
