@advancenine I'm counting on it, the progress so far is amazing 👏 It looks very good and polished. A minor critique, I am not sure about your wind particles. I think you were trying to fill the air with something, but the wind doesn't quite look right. Maybe you can instead put small flying insects of sorts and add in wind trails when you're flying? just a suggestion!

I would love to see in the devlogs not only what visual changes are you doing but also the implementation of mechanics (the bridges at night and so on). I'd be interested to see the water shader flipped because deeper water is usually darker so the center of your river should be dark. I don't think I'd like it as much because the light blue you use right now is great but I just wanna see it because it's a neat shader lol
@advancenine
@advancenine Жыл бұрын
You have a sharp eye. I actually did it that way first because you are right: that’s how water actually works. But I liked it better flipped because it have the world a more stylized feel. Hey, this series is going really well! I hope it becomes a full release one day! One thing i'd like to point out is that 2:43 almost felt like an outro, and I would've clicked away if i hadn't seen the video timeline. Must be just me though haha

Yes!! Great job on the water. I'm soooooooooo proud to be one of the "helpful users" who pointed it out. I expect a spot in the game credits. 😇😂 On a serious note, your shader skills are awesome, man. Keep up the good work. Also, looking forward to hearing the music from the composer you mentioned on the last comment. Do you have a link to his stuff? I'd love to check it out. Keep up the great work!!!

Thanks so much for your helpful feedback. You spot in the credits is reserved :) I have a link to the composers website in my description and it’d be rad if you checked him out. He’s super talented!

@@advancenine I looked at his stuff and it's really cool! Different style from mine in some ways, but then again as independent composers we have to learn to work in all styles. My focus is generally medieval fantasy/organic stuff, but I'm also trained in orchestral arrangements. Mood-setting underscores with piano and strings are my favorite to write. If you ever run into an issue or want to collaborate, hit me up!

Nice devlog! Once again, I love it 👌🤩 The nature + particles effects looks amazing, you did a great work 👏😮 One think I'd recommend is to maybe check for an other setup of the player's border/outer line. The white color contrast a bit too much against the environment I think and makes the player stands out in it's own layer. Keep going the good work 💪 PS : it was so cute the part when you held your baby against your chest! You're living proof that it's possible to have a family and still do amazing work 👌

I have recently started learning about game design (on the breaks between my part time job and university) because its the one thing that passionates me , seeing your journey , the fact that a dedicated father can do it , gives me hope that i can also do it , you even gave me lots of inspiration when it comes to art style and graphics, seeing your video filled me with joy, and now im 100% certain i will start my game dev journey ! thank you sir and can't wait for more updates !!

@advancenine well from the looks of things this game will be a great entry point for them. It's a game I know I would have loved running around in, (even if I didn't know what I was doing) it's got spyro/zelda vibes to it. Maybe add a little easter egg into the game just for them. Would be a great way to get them even more excited for it.
