SPEAKERS:
Lynette Correas-Velez is the Director of Tech Launchpad, an equity-centered tech initiative, at Kennedy-King College - one of seven City Community Colleges located on the South Side of Chicago. Lynette is a 3rd-year doctoral student in the Diversity and Equity in Education with an emphasis in the Human Resources Development program at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign (UIUC). As a trained Career Coach, Lynette has co-empowered over 30,000 diverse learners throughout the U.S. and internationally.
Jim Beirne has taught and provided career advice to Washington University students, alums, and colleagues for 18 years. He has been a member of the Global Curriculum Innovation Advisory Board of the Future Talent Council, the National Association of Colleges and Employers, the past Associate Dean of the Olin Business School, and the Director of the Weston Career Center, amongst others.
His career has included not only the academic perspective but also corporate roles. He led Hewlett Packard's Americas recruiting organization, which hired 6,000 full-time employees annually.
