Thank you Mr. Tucker. 😊 Loved the thinking out loud approach to teaching. I can feel the energy in this painting. I learned how you went about developing the idea. At the the same time there was practial instruction for tonal value studies, warm up, setting intention, color intensity, moving light to dark, creating and paying attention to the center of interest. The lavendar sky was lovely. Thank you so much.

Absolutely stunning Gary! That sunset and shadows realy did the trick. Thank you so much for sharing! 💕

So great. I wonder why it works, although logically the trees should have shadows as well. I'm glad he didn't put them in. It would have pulled attention away from the focus area. So satisfying lose style.

Great art, as we see here, transcends the material... captures a piece of God and brings it to earth for all the world to see... or in the case of music, to hear. EXCELLENT WORK, Gary!

Thanks Gary - I've been back to this lesson as this episode is masterclass if ever there was one. I should ask though, no long shadows on those trees in the midplane? The figures have a nice long shadow and shouldn't the trees? Although I should say, it looks great as it is.
@GaryTuckerArtist4 жыл бұрын
Good question Mick, I guess I would say that including shadows from the big trees would take away from my center of interest-which is the two figures and their long shadows, a good example of sacrificing something beautiful for the bigger picture...
@stearmankc6 жыл бұрын
I really love both versions. I'm seeing more and more the value of doing the tonal study...you get an extra painting out of the deal too! I don't think I have ever asked myself, "What do you want to say in this piece?" I would like to hear more of your thoughts on this idea. I guess I just have usually wanted things to be "beautiful"...whatever that means.

Спасибо все хорошо. красиво. Вот только вопрос. люди и тени это есть.а деревья и тени где? А ведь это немаловажно и естественно. Ни в серпии. ни в цвете этого нет. Ошибка? Или я так вижу?!

Really an outstanding conveyance of idea through painting. The effects you produced on my mind were exactly in accord with your description of your chosen techniques to do so. A case of calling your shots and then making them. Super instruction (I paint also). Oddly, though I love the painting, I’m strongly inclined to think the figures are better without the highlights. I think perhaps it added drama that they were still mired in winter while the promise of Spring lay unrealized at their feet. Cover the highlights in your mind’s eye and tell me what you think?

Mr. Tucker good day! I am a 60 year old homemaker, formerly a classical performing artist who has retired and am now an aspiring watercolor painter. I have watched your videos and am so inspired by your loose style (i am a very detailed worker and desire to loosen up a bit.) I have a request...is it possible for you to slow down your video so i can appreciate your strokes better? 😊

What I find also so amazing is how the brush skipping along the surface of the tree form closest to the fore, has given the appearance of snow nestled into the bark. Your whole process is wwonderdul - thank you!

Hello Mr. Tucker! Normally I don't enjoy a speedpainting video, actually, yours is the first one I really enjoyed. Together with your calm explanations, it worked perfectly for me. I am a beginner in watercolor and do a lot of experiences with different ways to use a brush, strokes etc. The problem I came across when I started with watercolor is the fear to start. I don,t know if this is normal but I can,t really understand it. The Video is fantastic! Thanks!! I will overcome my fear and have great hope one day to learn to express myself freely. You have a Portuguese follower. Obrigado!
