In addition to the regular episodes of the Regenerative Agriculture Podcast, John Kempf is happy to introduce a new short format version of his popular podcast that allows him to touch on even more topics relating to regenerative agriculture. In this inaugural short episode, John shares insights into the negative impacts of nitrate-heavy fertilization on disease susceptibility and soil biology. He also emphasizes the importance of balancing calcium with other nutrients to optimize plant health and productivity. John also talks in-depth about Advancing Eco Agriculture’s new product, MacroPak.

About John Kempf John Kempf is the founder of Advancing Eco Agriculture (AEA). A top expert in biological and regenerative farming, John founded AEA in 2006 to help fellow farmers by providing the education, tools, and strategies that will have a global effect on the food supply and those who grow it.
Through intense study and the knowledge gleaned from many industry leaders, John is building a comprehensive systems-based approach to plant nutrition - a system solidly based on the sciences of plant physiology, mineral nutrition, and soil microbiology.
Support For This Show & Helping You Grow Since 2006, AEA has been on a mission to help growers become more resilient, efficient, and profitable with regenerative agriculture.
AEA works directly with growers to apply its unique line of liquid mineral crop nutrition products and biological inoculants. Informed by cutting-edge plant and soil data-gathering techniques, AEA’s science-based programs empower farm operations to meet the crop quality markers that matter the most.
AEA has created real and lasting change on millions of acres with its products and data-driven services by working hand-in-hand with growers to produce healthier soil, stronger crops, and higher profits.
Beyond working on the ground with growers, AEA leads in regenerative agriculture media and education, producing and distributing the popular and highly-regarded Regenerative Agriculture Podcast, inspiring webinars, and other educational content that serve as go-to resources for growers worldwide.

Harley Smith also has much to say on the relationship between amino acids and calcium. Drastic improvement in uptake and mold resistance. Would love more information on amino acids. I always want the plant to get what it needs from microbes but when would it make sense to give amino acids directly?

Hey John I was just curious, you probably already have a video on it, but is there certain forms of nitrogens or minerals in general that induce the plant to focus on increasing the root mass and releasing more signaling in the soil to help increase soil microbes faster ?

Hi John. Wonderful content as always. It is outside of my wheelhouse, but your mention of node distance in fruiting trees got me curious about how AEA's nutritional/biological approach could impact tree farming; how could timber crops be improved with your applied knowledge?

A topic I'd like hear about. Some time back, John mentioned seeing some experiments with shallow drain tile. I was intrigued, but I haven't been able to find a word or a lead about it.

I suppose the thinner stems are an advantage since the plant doesn't invest so much there, and counterintuitively better in the wind if thicker stems break while thinner stems bend? I live in a windy province. These short episodes are great in the morning, to think about during the day's work. The long episodes are also great if one has time like in the winter. Thanks.
