Indian Military Nursing Service is an independent organization working with the Indian Armed Force Medical Corps of all three services(Army, Navy & Air Force).The aim of the Military Nursing Service is to provide medical care to hospitalized soldiers and their dependents in peace and field locations. Some of the perks include that you are a Gazetted Officer class 1, therefore you get a President's Commission like the rest of Indian Army officers, and so your pay scales are a tad bit lower than the commensurate ranks of other regular officers holding the same rank. You are entitled to all perks of a service officer including, pension, family accommodation etc. MNS officers who are single get to live and dine in the Nursing Officers Mess, a safe and secure place. Apart from the salaries and pay allowance under the 7th pay commission, the following facilities are also provided- accommodation, leave: 60 days annual leave & 20 days casual leave per year, leave travel concessions, institute and messes membership, school facilities, flight/rail concessions, secured camp life, CSD facilities, health insurance etc. Watch this complete video to know more about the advantages provided to MNS officers.
