Thanks for posting different situations myself have heavy motorcycle does not matter what kind do a lot of long distance riding I personally know we are being ripped up by MC tire companies way overpriced 11 12,000 miles is no mileage eventually I will probably go dark side to each his own

When I was a kid a man moved in a couple of houses down who owned a 1947 HD with a tank shift. The following year he traded for a 1954 HD 74 because it had a foot shift. I am pretty sure both of these bikes had car tires on the rear, it was common practice to do so back then. Why don't they complain about the guys who drink and then drive a motorcycle. 39% of all daytime motorcycle accidents are alcohol related while 67% of all night time motorcycle accidents are due to alcohol. Now there is something to complain about because it gives all of us a bad image.

Yeah i've heard it being done. But i can't find car tires that are 10" for my c3

@@motardsquid you should dark side the rear scooter tyre. Be the first to do it. There must be a 10 inch car tyre somewhere. A scooter could run quite well with a rear car tyre especially around town it would last ages and get no flats. Changing scooter tyres is a pain so it would be a good idea.

the bead profile of a motorcycle rim is different from a car tire... the bead will seat differently. Yes, it will seal but the car tire bead won't 'mold' itself around the motorcycle rim. Also, car tires are slightly larger than motorcycle tires with respect to diameter. A 16" car tire is bigger than a 16" motorcycle tire- hence, another compromise in fit. Not worth it- and no, I didn't try it because I only have one life. BTW- you get in an accident, even if it has NOTHING to do with tires - if your insurance company finds out about the car tires on your bike... guess what? - your insurance company isn't obligated to pay the claim based on faulty safety equipment. How much money are you going to save then?

I'm not gonna be told that you get better grip, especially around corners, why don't all moto gp riders then do it?
