This is fun, KZbin is making me write comments with black text on a black background today.... proofreading and editing is lots of fun.... I ran into the same problem you did, where I realised that I have to treat each region separately. But I don't think I'm going to figure out a way to track them, so I think Day 12 will remain unsolved for me. But I did complete Day 11, and it can complete is milliseconds with the right algorithm :) If I can offer a hint... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... it's the same as counting fish in a previous year.
