We were typical rich New York kids and every year we were all dragged up to Maine for part of our vacation. We always stopped for one night in Boston each way. The moment we heard WMEX we KNEW we found the Top jock in the area!!! We heard the kazoo and sound effects, the Adventure car hop commercial. You got a prize and a free 2nd burger..which gave you an idea of the basic profit margin...then the best, the 3 D's commercials and Ginsberg going crazy on the air. All great, great memories....

What a GREAT air personality. Arnie Ginsberg was one of the masters of the pop DJ form.

I remember going there as a teen - ordering a chicken in the basket and yelling woo woo Ginsberg and getting a free 45RPM record

Good to see this ad. Arnie was a neighbor of mine in Ogunquit, ME. Unfortunately he passed away a couple of years ago. He was a great guy.

I remember getting free records there, by yelling out "Woo Woo Ginsberg" into the order microphone. Fun Times. Free Bobby Rydel and Chubby Checker.

The first place I ever drove to after I got my license! Nearly killed everyone in the car at that rotary (now gone) by the liquor store. R.I.P., Woo Woo....

I'd listen to till Arnie was over and then listen to Joey Reynolds out of WKBW in Buffalo cuz the signal was strong at night. Non stop crazyness.

My father remembers these ads from his teenage years, he remembers Arnie Ginsburg and adventure car hop by name. I've always loved hearing about the old days and their drive ins, car hops, and root beer floats and coca colas in glass bottles. I bet they didnt know they were living in the golden age of American culture

Arnie the Woo, Friday night oldies show, circa 1963. Mick singers from Southie sang this one. We went out for the burgers. Burnt to the ground in mid sixties, don't ya know.

What was in it? I lived in Fitchburg, which was too far west to just hop in the car and go for one. But my Boston friends from the Cape loved them.
