70 between Denver & 15 in UT is the most amazing and beautiful part of the US Highway system. Nothing can top it. Sad it was dark when you came off the Western Ridge, it's an incredible landscape, not much like it. From where you were, taking 191-163-160-89 to Flagstaff is an amazing drive as well, but you need the time to cruise it, you go past Monument Valley.

I used to drive that thing three times a week trick is and what us locals do is when you hit the tunnel you hold your breath If you can hold it for the entire length of the tunnel going normal speed you are pretty good. I lived just down the street from where you guys got gas at the Shell in Fruita and I worked in Denver so I probably literally driven that a thousand times. That whole drive brought back some old memories.
@AroundNJ2 жыл бұрын
What benefit did you get from holding your breath? I don't know many locals that would admit to that idiocracy. My family lives west of Denver and no one attests to doing that and admits there is a benefit.

I have to agree with Robby on this one Tan Pants. Make no mistake, through hiking is one of the hardest things someone could ever do and it's not a vacation at all, but through hiking all the way for me. It's starting to get pretty darn real that I leave on the AT from the southern terminus for my AT through hike in Spring of 2023. The people I chose to watch hike this year are summitting Mt. Katahdin and it makes me just a little nervous that I'm up next. Class of 2023. I'm way more excited though. It's taken years to train to hike that sort of daily mileage, acquire the appropriate gear, and save some money to hike.

I think this is the way we went when we did our 2 week campervan loop from Denver! Except we stopped at Sego Canyon and Glenwood Springs on the way over to Moab (Arches/Canyonlands/Dead Horse Point) then we looped down to Ute Mountain Tribal Park/Mesa Verde and Great Sand Dunes back up to Denver.
