DIVING Bunaken, Lembeh, Olele, Hiking Tangkoko MANADO, NORTH SULAWESI

Welcome to the NORTH SULAWESI - Containing some of the best diving and Trekking in Indonesia.
Join me in this Episode where I take my motorbike Gorontalo to Manado. Arriving at some unique scuba diving sites starting with Olele in Gorontalo, Bunaken marine park and islands, and Lembeh straight.
I also do some hiking to the beautiful Gunung Ambang close to Kotomabagu, Modoinding. And I visit the incredible Tangkoko National park.
The trip carries on from where I left last week in the Togean Islands, I took the ferry to Gorontalo and then visited Olele which is a small marine park in Gorontalo. Here you can see the Salvador Dali Sponge. Which is endemic to this area.
I then leave to enter North Sulawesi and go directly up to KotaMobagu and stay in the village of Modoinding so I can hike up to the first real volcano I have seen in Sulawesi, Gunung Ambang.
From there I head to Manado city and take the ferry to Bunaken island, Which is Indonesias oldest marine park and is incredible. many sea turtles and a vast array of other sea creatures and fishes. I stayed and Panorama Dive Resort and had the best dive guide, Yopi.
From here I drove my motorbike to Bitung and took the ferry to Lembeh island and stayed at Lembeh dive lodge. This area is amazing and full of mimic octopus, wonderpus, blue ring octopus, flamboyant cuttlefish and many many other weird sea critters.
Finally I visit Tangkoko national park and sea the endemic animals such as the Black Crested Macaque and tarsier.

Yes you should definitely consider doing diving. Snorkelling you only see half the things. And I’m very glad you like the channel. Seeing comments like this makes me know I’m doing the right thing. I use a Sony Rx100 in a nauticam casing

i read about the Wallace Line too. Quite interesting. I am from the Malaysian Borneo Territory of Sabah. 5 minutes in and damn. The road you’re on is one I cycled about 10 years ago several times, both solo and while guiding bicycle tours there. It’s amazing to see how much the road has changed. And then BAM! You’re in Modoinding. Easily one of my favorite places in the whole country. Simply beautiful up there. Anyway, back to watch the rest.
