Adam, you spoke of the lack of merch stores. I worked Adventureland shops in the early 80’s and it was quite different. I worked mostly in Oriental Imports which had very nice jewelry (jade mostly) and was a nice quiet, and cool, retreat. I remember the Magic Carpet next door had a huge window display of middle eastern hookahs, the largest one had 20 hoses. Then, one day they were gone. Apparently, somebody in mgmt finally figured out they were being bought mostly to smoke pot! Anyway, the area has a completely different vibe once the Aladdin ride moved in. Such is progress (?) It was a great time. I was in college, like most of my fellow castmembers, and we were a close-knit group and the late-night parking lot tailgating are times I still vividly remember.

Skipper Joey is the greatest. You have to catch his Hanukkah Cruise during Jingle Cruise time. Joey graduated high school with my daughter and was a standout comedy performer in many productions there.
