Gloves are practically mandatory if you're running an AK hard. The dust cover and magazine catch can have a lot of sharp edges that you will scrape your hands on if you're doing quick reloads.

I'm a sweathog, and my hands are like portable showers. If I don't wear gloves, things get slippery -- even with modified grips.

I wear gloves, with the index or trigger finger cut off above the second joint, because I don’t like anything between me and my finger. Plus, if anything catastrophic were to happen, like I get a hot round which blows up the run, I’ll keep most of my hand, if I’ve got a good amount of heavy plastic, rubber and pleather between the blast and my hand. I’ve been shooting since I was six years old. I’m 58 now and I’ve had just one weapon explode on me. And I’ve got the scars to prove it. But I’ve still got all my digits. While in the military and in law enforcement, I’ve fired a Lot of weapons. Having the proper protection meant having total control of these weapons as well as knowing if anything happened, I had on the best money could buy. Good video.

Heat is the main reason I wear them, I use the in vogue thumb over bore grip with a DI carbine length gas system AR, you bet I like to use gloves!

+judofry For sure! Burning yourself while shooting definitely ruins the training and the fun.

I'm new with guns (I have 2 shotguns) and I went to the range today and I still feel like I have the gunpowder (or whatever it is) on my hands many hours later after cleaning them several times. Would you say that's a good reason to use gloves? Also, can you use them with a shotgun?
@AdventureOne2 жыл бұрын
Yes it is. Just make sure the trigger guard on the shotgun is large enough to safely get your finger in and out of with the glove on. As far as washing your hands after, I recommend washing your hands with cold water (so your pores don't open up) and dish soap or pumice soap like fast orange. I originally bought it when I was taking art classes and found it works great for gunpowder residue.

@@AdventureOne Thank you. Yes the owner of the gun range told me to wash with cold water as well as well. Thanks for getting back to me.

If someone breaks in your house do you put gloves on first, then shoot them? If your out and about and you're getting robbed, do you call time out and glove up before drawing your concealed firearm and shooting the robber?

Am I gonna hear that stupid piano music when I shoot with my gloves on?
