They're a great body style. I wonder why they're not more popular in the classic car market. Thanks for watching and commenting.

I had that exact car bought new in 74. One of my favorite cars. Loved that color. I saw it being delivered to the dealership at midnight. Went in and bought it the next day. 5400 dollars!!!

The first car I ever drove was a 1974 Cutlass Supreme back in 1985. I currently have a 1976 Cutlass Salon with 45,000 original miles. While the 1965-72 years are the classic years, the 1973-77 models were the best selling cars of the 70’s. They are more rare now since few people kept them as collectibles.

I certainly prefer the 73-77 body styles over the 65-72. I understand that the engines had significantly less power, but that can be fixed! Thanks for watching and your comment.

My pap had a 1977 Oldsmobile Cutlas 4 door salon silver exterior with the factory blue landau top and blue interior which was the front bucket seat and AM/FM stereo with the 8 track tape deck. It was a V-8 350 engine. The armrest on the bottom had that logo just like your seats. I was old enough to have the enjoyment ride of my paps Oldsmobile but waiting at the gas pump in 1979 was horrible due to the gas shortage. Thanks for sharing your nice Oldsmobile and enjoy.

My sister had a 1977 Cutlass Supreme that was two-door with buckets and center, floor, console shifter. My favorite year for the 1973-1977 Cutlasses was 1974 due to the large front bumper, low grille design, and sweeping styling on the side body panels. My 2nd favorite was the 1977 due to the still large front bumper and the revised front grille styling. Each year has its own styling and advantages/disadvantages. Thanks for watching and commenting.

My 74 is Citation Bronze in color with a beige winyl top. It needs a paint job and the top replaced. I have had it since 2016 and I have done some upgrades to it...complete moog front suspension, rear wheel disk brake system with new coil springs and shocks, replace the non working 8-track tape player with an original Delco AM/FM stereo radio and with 4 new Blaupunkt speakers, but I have a Blaupunkt Beverly Hills 71 CD player that fits nicely under the dash resting on the console. I have removed that weak 2 row copper radiator and replaced it with a Champion 4 row aluminum radiator and an all aluminum water pump, replaced that 5 blade radiator fan with a 7 blade fan. Removed both instrument clusters and replaced both with new light bulbs, and the best thing I have done is removed that jacked up Rochester 4bbl carb with an Atomic fuel injection system, and a genuine GM HEI distributor. This 180hp 350 Rocked engine loves this set-up. This car was in storage for many many years(40) and had 57333 on the odo when I got it out of Michigan. It was rust proofed 2 times and has NO trace of any rust, since the Colonades(73-77) were extremely addicted to rust. I took it to a body shop for accident inspection and was told the car has NEVER been in any accident. So now it's just the paint job that is need for my PRINCESS.

Wow!!! Good job! That's a lot of work. I have certainly enjoyed having my car restomodded. It's certainly a pain sometimes and it costs money, but I get lots of enjoyment from my car as you will too. Thanks for watching and commenting.

I have upgraded the entire suspension on the car with coil overs, sway bars, and an air bag system in the rear. It handles dramatically better than stock. I don't notice any issues with the different sized wheels. Thanks for watching.

Mom had a 72 Cutlass S. 350. It would move! Great car. In 72 Olds, they didn't offer a 6. Great car! Miss it. Listed for 4,300.00. Thanks for sharing.

@adventurerforlife-joel Sure, always send me Pic of you get them. My first car at 16 was a 1976 Pontiac Grand Le Man's. A demo on the showroom floor. Dad helped me. I had a grocery store job after school. White with firethorne red interior . Full console. Factory 8 track. 350. Rally II wheels. Grand Prix dashboard. A beautiful car. 100.00 a month on the note. Gave dad 25 bucks a week. I thanked him again. The night before he passed. He could hear but not speak. He squeezed my hand. Mom had told us. We better not come home with a 3 car. He stepped out. Got a loan at his credit union where he was a pharmaceutical salesman. Miss you, dad. I didn't mean to go on. It was on my heart. My best to all.

as much as I like the looks of post-72 Cutlass, couldn't help but wonder about the decline in esthetics from the previous generation...

I love the 73-77 Cutlass models partly because I had a '74 when I was first driving and my sister had a '77. The '65-'72 are obviously the classic years. I prefer the engines in the '65-'72s and the looks of the '73-'77. Thx for watching.

My original 1974 Cutlass had a beige landau top and was the paint and interior trim color that you see in these videos. Unfortunately, I got it as a teenager and drove it into the ground and sold it for $250 in 1987. I didn't have the wherewithal to restore it at the time. I loved the car so much that I swore one day I'd get another one. The car in the videos was purchased about 12-15 years ago and was painted silver with a maroon interior and landau top. I've had the car completely restored to the same colors as my old one, but without some of the trim that I didn't like (body side molding etc) and with an entirely new and upgraded powertrain, suspension, etc, etc. I do have the stock SSIII wheels painted to match, but they're 14", so I typically drive with the aftermarket 15" SSI wheels, so that I can have larger tires. Thanks for watching and commenting.

Go to Summit Racing and look for Vintiques Oldsmobile SS1. I put 15x10 on the back and 15x8 on the front. My stock wheels were 14" and were SS2s. They're the ones that are painted the same color as the car. I have them and they look great, but I prefer the 15" wheels. You can also buy a center cap with the Olds rocket symbol on it which I have done. Thx for watching.

I love the '73-'77 models. Every time I stopped for gas or anywhere that someone saw me outside the car, they approached me to talk about how they loved the car. I pretty much like all of the muscle cars from the late 60s through early 70s, but the Cutlass certainly has a unique look. Thx for watching.

@@adventurerforlife-joel Hey Joel. Notice my comment above. Just like you, I am always always approached by people who tells how much they like my Princess. Even the police! When they stop me, the very first thing they say to me is "You didn't do anything. We want to see your car"! Then they go on to ask me what kind of car is this? They don't ask for insurance or registation or my license. They're intrested in the car. When I go shopping, and return to the car, here are 4 or 5 guys standing around my car. Us car guys talk about 3 things...our cars, our women, and football. But car talk takes center stage. I got this car out of Detroit in 2016. I live in Dallas. I left Detroit on a Monday morning around 8am. Tuesday morning @ about 9:30 I was in Mount Pleasant Texas @ that Cefco truck stop to refuel. When I did that and jump back on the hwy, here comes a Texas State Trooper with lights flashing. I said, oooo shit, he is after me! I had the cruise set @ 73mph. When I proceeded to pull over, he shut his lights off immediately as we were pulling over. When he walked up, he said...you did not do anything and I saw you back @ that station for fuel. Then he proceeded to ask where did I get a beauty like this. I said a car dealership in Detroit. He asked what year was my car. When I said 1974, he said I was born in 74. Then I said you and this car is the same age. This guy let out this big scream laughing. He did not ask for my license, registration or insurance. He did ask me where did I live and I told him in Dallas. We must have talked about 30 minutes about my car. Then he said have a continued nice trip home and he thanked me for talking with him. And this is the kind of attention when I drive my Princess even @ car shows.
