Yay…….our old stomping grounds! Bryce Canyon ….the LEFEVRE family land. We had our engagement pictures taken looking over the canyon. So fun to look back on them…..and this bring back so many memories. Ruby Syrett was my children great, great great grandfather. Such an interesting life he had. I’m old now….it’s been quite a few years since I’ve been there. But my kids go back quite often. Tropic reservoir was a great place to hike around 55 years ago! Where did the time go????? Yikes. Thanks for taking me back in time!

Age is but a number. You both repeatedly defy the numbers you reference 😊. We see the strength of your characters. Goodness, know you both run rings around much younger people. Slow and steady wins the race was a really sweet story when I was a younger me. The lessons profound, we discussed and took sides on which one would win. The rabbit had the highest number of votes, and those who voted the turtle won a pretzel when we reached the answer. My how delicious that pretzel was! Limitations are actually milestones, and if I sound silly, at the time I was 7, I identify as 8 now 😊.

When I used to tent camp, I started gathering gear and making food the week before we left. We usually packed up the car on Thursday night to leave mid day on Friday. My first husband worked near where we went camping so he would come to camp after work to help me finish setting up. I usually had the tent up and squared away along with most of the car emptied out. I truly miss those days. My 2nd husband doesn't enjoy tent camping or being outdoors. He has to be connected to the internet all of the time.

We spent our 5 month adventure in our roof top tent from Ga to Alaska to the west. We are in our early 70’s and look forward to returning west in a couple of years! Thank you Pam and Jim for all your special informative videos.

Pam: You look just lovely all natural. Many of us struggle to breathe at higher elevations. You might consider asking your doctor about small portable oxygen supply for these higher level trips. Some of the newer ones aren't much larger than a fanny pack. The view is spectacular. At my house it is written when we are too tired we are eating at a restaurant. Or we have what my grandson calls a free for all ( that means feed yourself). I do so enjoy the scenic trips.

You are doing great getting around. I’m 75 and 5 years ago I had a knee joint replacement and excessive scarring developed in the knee and limits my flexibility and causing pain. I went from being able to do things, to being handicapped and house bound. Arthritis in multiple joints. I’m Leary of having another surgery as the adhesive scars may develop in another joint. If I have surgery to get rid of adhesions, they may redevelop in that joint again. So I love seeing where you go as I will never be able to see it personally. The spires looked out of this world. I wonder how they were created and what caused them.

I always pick a meal that’s easy for our first meal when we go camping. Getting everything loaded in the motorhome and then getting set up when we get there can take a lot of energy when you’re getting a bit older. I prepare as much as I can ahead of time also. More free time for me!

Great trip and video! Bryce is now on my want to visit list. Know your limitations is a great tip and one everyone should follow. Keeping the menu simple and flexible is a my go-to. We take a trip into the mountains for a week every winter. The menu is the same each trip. The menu is structured in an Excel spreadsheet. Each day is in a column of its own that lists the menu, the ingredients and the instructions. That way any one that is in the condo/house/whatever knows what to start at about 4pm. We prep the night before by pulling out anything that needs to be defrosted and organizing ingredients. This allows everyone to enjoy the days activities and no one slaves in the kitchen.

It sounds like you both need a break. Take a few days off and just rest. We all have to do this sometimes. We all on the channel will understand. As we ALL get older, we do tire out more easily. Please take care.

We are similar in age, we take our trailer out 3 days before leaving traveling. Each day we do prep work, cleaning inside trailer, while in storage it’s amazing how much dust blows in. The next day we bring in clothes, personal items, first aid kit. The 3rd day food because electric fridge has been turned on. The next morning we are ready to start traveling early. Safe travels to all.
