Seems like the altitude was getting you both. There are O2 portable 'air in a can' called Boost that you can get can get at sport shops, walmart and some gas stations in high elevations. You might want to invest in a couple to take with you in these situations. About 10 bucks a can. Jim sounded a bit more oxygen compromised than you did, Pam, but you were more water compromised.

Your video brings back memories of 1986. My husband is a retired Park Ranger. He was in a 10 week training class on the south rim of the Grand Canyon and back then families were allowed to go with the Rangers. So, we lived on the south rim for 10 weeks. We actually hiked to the bottom of the canyon with a 9 year old and a 4 year old. Fabulous time for our family. 😊

I think it was very smart of you to cook your meals ahead of time. It saves time packing/unpacking food, preparing food to cook, cooking the food, and then the clean up after you eat. Sooooo smart!!! Enjoy your trip and thx for taking us along!!! I was at the Grand Canyon once with my husband years ago. We drove two hours out of our way on our way home from New Mexico. We stood at the edge and looked over, then he looked at me and said, “Are you ready to go home?” He was not a good sport. ☹️

I was there June 28. That patio was packed. I avoided the lodge area. But camped in the north rim campground. I did watch sunrise where you had your picnic lunch and at imperial point. You should have kept going on that road. I spent most of a day there, the views were stunning, but it was a winding road. I didn't get to see the buffalo or mules.

Pam & Jim, I really enjoyed watching this video. I am an occasional viewer from RRH but haven't watched much on Trail Grazers yet. But from the food ideas to the scenery to the day's activities, this was very enjoyable.

Pam: Jim sounds like he is out of breath today. That climbing rope I suggested earlier might be a good idea. Jim gets too close to the edges. The forest fires might be making it harder to breathe. Water at other locations always tastes bad compared to what we drink at home. More pretty views. I have been to the Grand Canyon but only as a child. I rode the mules down to the bottom when I was there. My sister was born in Arizona. A local farmer raises buffalo he crosses them with cattle. There are buffalo at Fort Leavenworth which is a short drive away. The farmer always tells people don't ever mess with the buffalo they are totally unpredictable. Fences are no challenge for them. A lot of pretty scenery and enjoy yourselves as much as you can. Another great video!

Hi, Jim & Pam! The GC North Rim!! You visited one of my favorite places!! I was there in 2011. The views were subdued due to forrest fires in Canada or our SW. So smoky that I did not get up before dawn to photo the sunrise at Point Imperial. So glad that I made the trip when I did and hiked to all of the lookouts & shorter trails. The best end to an evening was to watch the sunset sitting at the lodge patio with a glass (or 2) of wine, chatting with other guests. So much breathtaking beauty! For health reasons my traveling is very limited and I am no longer able to hike. I loved every moment spent at the Grand Canyon North Rim and have hundreds of photos I cherish. The altitude taxes everyone’s breathing. It took a couple days to acclimate. Thank you so much for taking us along on your trip!! ❤ 😊

We were there September 2023. Where we camped after overlanding all day 81 miles off pavement past Mount Thrumbull School house to an area of the North Rim. Views and isolation were fantastic. Have you and Jim ever gone that direction with your ATV or Blue?

Such a beautiful area! I loved it there. TFS. I prefer the North Rim to the South Rim, less of a crowd. Of course, you should see it from both perspectives at least once.

My brother has a ranch in north west Nebraska and when I visit we usually take a day trip up to Custer State Park in South Dakota where there are huge herds of buffalo. Thrilling!

Jim is gettting to old to do such hard work. Maybe you better start staying in motels which is no fun! You folks are tough! We spent our honeymoon at the north rim in one of those little cabins. My husband was a baker at the lodge. That was in 1968! Oh the years have passed!
