Hey guys! Thank you so much for the love and support for Joey. I just wanted to fill you all in on what happened. I feel like when I was recording, I was feeling a little crazy so I didn't explain things well. When we were on our way back to our camp site, a dog at another site ran out and attacked Joey. He had his teeth around his neck. The owner of the dog ran over immediately and the dog's were separated within a matter of seconds. He didn't have any blood on him. He wouldn't let me examine his neck for the first couple of days. Because I didn't see blood, I thought there wasn't a puncture wound. (Spoiler alert) When Joey let me look/touch his neck, there was a lump and a small puncture wound. I end up taking him to the vet even though he starts acting like his normal self pretty quick. He got some antibiotics and pain medication. This was recorded weeks ago and he is totally fine now and back to a happy boi. He is definitely wary around other dogs and is quick to try to intimidate them. But other than that, you wouldn't even know this happened. Again, than you so much for the love and support for my fur child. He is my everything and it was a traumatic experience for us both. To be honest, I feel like it took me longer to get over than him. I feel so sorry for Joey! He is such a sweet and gentle little boy. I don't know what's happening but I have seen a lot of reports about dog attacks. I hope the owners of the other dog apologized. I have seen they have dog treats with CBD or hemp in them ( I bought some for my dog because he gets nervous during bad storms) because it helps calm them down if they are upset. Maybe you could try them if Joey continues to act nervous 💗! I hope he gets better! Give him a hug from me ❤️. Take care Chantelle! ✌️💕

I am very glad you are both okay. I hope you reported this incident so that other dogs and maybe children will be safe. I was surrounded by 3 aggressive dogs on a back road once and if a car had not come along I might not be here. It was years ago and I still am nervous about walking in deserted areas, often the most beautiful, because of the incident. I carry a stick with me always. Perhaps you should as well.🤗

Omg poor Joey! It broke my heart to see his little body shaking! It makes me so mad when people have their dogs off leash! Especially if the dog isn’t trained or if it has any kind of dog aggression. As an owner of a dog that doesn’t do well with other animals, he is always on the leash when he is outside! Those people should pay for any vet bills! 😠 This spot is absolutely beautiful. Um take him to the vet and have him checked out! I also would have filed a report and owner should pay for vet bill who should also be charged for not having their dog on a leash. Those ppl are why there are leash laws.

Both mushrooms you showed are edible. 1st were oysters, a choice edible delicious mushroom and the 2nd were ink cap mushrooms, good tasting mushroom(just dont drink alcohol with them)

I hope Joey is doing better. That is a terrifying experience. Hugs to him and you. I am a camp host. Telling people to put their dogs on leash is something I do on a daily basis. There are signs everywhere and it’s ridiculous that people think they are above the rules. I have seen dog fights, attacks, and dogs lost because some people don’t leash their dogs! Incredibly frustrating.

People who dont put their dogs on a leash are ignorant. Its just not for the safety of others, it is also for the safety for their own dog, so they wont run off or get into something that is dangerous.

I' m sorry that happened to Joey. Please consider getting a regular leash. Those retractable leashes are dangerous. A shorter leash keeps him closer to you and he can still explore. It still might have happened anyway and I'm so sorry. Little Joey is so sweet, my heart sank when I saw the title of your video. Enjoy your campground. The sounds of the rushing river waters is so comforting.

Poor Joey. That is one of my fears is my dogs being attacked. I carry a weapon because people don't always control their dogs. I would hate to hurt or kill someone's pet but if it's attacking mine I would protect them. Did the owner apologize and leash them? What did you do?

I totally understand how that must have made you feel. Also how Joey must have felt. I get so upset with people not leashing their dogs. I had a service dog that was attacked four different times by off leash dogs even though my dog walked right next to me. After the second time it completely ruined her for service. Every time she saw a dog she became aggressive herself because she was afraid and wanted to make sure they didn't come near her. She was such a sweet dog. She was almost 12 when she died in March.

Yep! Some of us are just magnets for the unwanted company!! I go to a park on a slow day, no one around, place is empty, 5 min later, boom, unwanted company ... massive and diverse areas there, & yet these ya-hoos want to be right next to me. I call them encroachers as I think I have finally figured out their mentality. Yep, i used to just leave ... but why should they ruin my day? Them ... So lets check this huge space out. Love how clear the water is and VERY cool campground. I'd stay the week !! Too bad the first site was hot - I actually like that one better for privacy. Seems WA is a prime camping area. Joey!!! I'm glad he wasn't hurt worse! More than once, my leashed dogs have been attacked, suddenly, by off-leash dogs. INVARIABLY, the owner (who is not around, within eyesight of, their unleashed dog) says, "My dog has never done that before!" Well - there is always a first time, because of their attitude, & it could be the last time for the dog that is attacked! Each time, I let authorities know, because the owners' carelessness was to blame for each attack & my vet bills were high for the horrible damages done. I wish the campsite had been 100% perfect, as it should have been. Keep up the good, Chantelle & Joey!

Little Joey, I am glad he's okay! I know how you feel, my little baby boy was attacked by a pitbull! He almost died! For a few years after he was attacked..... I would pick him up when we would see a big dog and suffered from a little PTSD..... Now we have a pit and he loves our little babes.... anyway that sure is a magical area where you're at...... I love how your so grateful and appreciate everything in your life! You make me feel grateful, just to watch you and Joey...... Love you two

I hope you and Joey are doing okay. I can't imagine what you both went through. I also have a Yorkie, a little girlfriend for Joey, lol, her name is Zoey. I'm thinking of both of you and hoping all went well at the Vets office. The campsite was amazing, and free for 7 days, awesome.

That’s the one drag about having a lil dog. Vulnerable, I have a lil one too. She was bite by a huge dog. And like you I was traumatized !!! As was my lil boo. Leash your dogs people

I so understand what you're going through with Joey. My 15lb Sunny was attacked by a 40-45lb dog. It was on a leash, but the owners either let go or didn't have it secured. They didn't react as their dog went after mine. Instincts kicked in and I grabbed that dog behind it's front legs, dropped and rolled it off my fur baby. My girl took off running as I stayed behind to chew out the owners. I found her 200yds away. Luckily no punctures. The next morning she didn't want to get out of the bed. I lifted her down and she squealed in pain. She sat under my van trembling. I reached out to a friend familiar with homeopathics. She suggested Bach Rescue Remedy and Arnica for both of us. Within a few days we were both much better. Still makes me angry though.

Lovely spot. Poor sweet Joey. I, too, have a small dog and am constantly on the lookout for any off leash dogs. However, sometimes these dogs come out of nowhere such as in your case where the dog ran out from his camp area. People need to keep their dogs leashed in their camps. I've had a few scary moments. I carry a couple different types of protection, which I will not hesitate to use if need be. The worst situations I've had, the owners have said, oh he's friendly. Then they say, oh, he's never done that before. Yeah, RIGHT! Glad Joey is OK and recovered from his wound. So sorry that happened. 🙁 An Oregon nomad 🌲❤🐶😽❤🌲

Oh poor baby. I would have been off the chain pissed! Great control there gurl👍 I'd have had Lil Joey in a backpack hanging from my front for the rest of the day. Omg. I'm so sorry that happened to you both. Lyre is a great place, Nomadic Fanatic goes there often and gets great spots too. I really hope Joey is ok. Can't wait to see your next video to find out. Give him like 3 drops of ur hemp meds. It will relax him n help him calm down. Sry yall had to go threw that. He is probably hurting like after a car accident. Ppl usually do not think about them having headaches,backaches, toothaches,bruises, upset stomach, allergies, cold etc. I can tell u love Joey alot. I understand he is ur child. I have one myself. I know money is no object when it’s your baby. I’ve spent $10,000 on one dog and would do it again tomorrow if needed. But, the owner whose dog attacked Joey should be the one to pay in this case. Clearly they were not following guidelines! I’m glad Joey is well. You guys make me smile a lot. Bless you both!

Sorry your little pup had to go thru a terrible ordeal .I hope he's doing better. People just don't keep there dogs on leashes, like the law says.. I hope you Sid something as Joey doesn't speak, so your speaking for him. I have a 6# York's and the little guys can't fight for themselves!ves. Prayers for Joey. ❤
