Good luck with the Harp, I'm mainly familiar with it through what I've read about it in Harpo Marx's biography, he was self taught on the harp somehow. Became known named after his instrument of choice too just like you.

I met someone at uni who played the harp as her chosen instrument for her Music degree. But living in a tiny student flat her harp was in the kitchen/livingroom area that would get quite humid causing her harp to expand and contract, so she was constantly having to retune the it and replace the strings that would snap.

If it makes you feel better, Harpo Marx when he was teaching himself harp tuned it wrong. He eventually learned how to properly tune a harp and had to relearn how to play.

That kind of sounds coming from your jaw is a sign of exhausted jaw muscles. Teeth grinding is the most common cause of it. For me, having the muscles be massaged stopped the sound for a week or so. A dentist also told me that while not usually dangerous, it can cause you to dislocate your jaw.

I would think that a deep undertone would play well with how you tuned the harp - I'm thinking something closer to tuvan throat singing. I'm impressed by how well you brought the harp back from a disaster, though. I was pretty concerned with the initial tuning. I find it interesting that accent changes so much when we sing. I had a friend from England tell my fiancee that she loved hearing her talk because it sounded so whimsical and sing-songy.

While, yes, the piano has more strings to tune (and many of the notes have multiple strings to tune, I'm not sure of the breakdown of number of notes with 1, 2, and 3 strings...), because harps travel more and are played by plucking they need to be tuned more often, probably as often as a guitar (or gurdy in Patty's experience) but with more strings.
