We went to Disney100: The Exhibition in London! We head over to ExCeL London via cable car to discover the fascinating history of the Walt Disney Company. In this vlog we take you for a full tour of this awesome exhibition featuring over 250 individual artifacts and works of art, costumes, props, and incredible memorabilia!

Mary Poppins (1964) was the first film I saw in a movie theatre…I was 5 years old. I am from Kansas City, Missouri in the US where Walt lived beginning in 1911 after his dad had to sell the Marceline, Missouri farm. He attended art school classes in KC and worked as an illustrator at the Kansas City Star newspaper, where he was fired for having no creativity according to his boss. He created his Laugh-O-Gram animations in his studio close to where I grew up. He left in 1923, bankrupt with no prospects, to head to Hollywood.

WOW!!! It's like *One Man's Dream" at Hollywood studios only so much more. Even though I live in the States, things like this never come to the remote corner of Maine. I would love to see this exhibit. What an awesome exhibition! Looks like it was indeed, well worth the entrance fee. As a child I was pretty hyperactive and always on the go - One day my Dad thought it might be a good idea for me to sit still for once, so he encouraged me to sit and watch, ‘Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs’ - explaining how it was the first cel animated feature film, released in 1937, before he was born and was groundbreaking for its time! 🫨 I enjoyed it so much and was given a real appreciation for how animations were made and wondered how they managed this in the 1930’s! Then he suggested, ‘Pinnochio’ which became my new favourite. And we made a life-size Pinnochio puppet together which I’ll remember forever! Then I watched, ‘Lady & the Tramp’ at my granny’s which then had to go on every time I visited… And the other films at my friends houses like, ‘The Little Mermaid’ with its beautiful soundtrack etc, etc… It is difficult not to be moved by the morals, wonder and hope Disney creates. A worldwide influence is no surprise as they touch so many of us with their artwork, vision and expansive joy-spreading 🐭🙌🏼 Thank you both for sharing your experience as always. I was surprised to see you didn’t have sparkly ears on though Charlotte 😍🐭😂🙌🏼 Love seeing you in your Disney ears 😄 I really appreciate the detail and time you guys take to make comprehensive, fair and pleasant content over and over again. 10:33 There is actually a Walt Disney Museum in Marceline, Missouri I have been to several times, including last year for the 100th anniversary, about 2 hours northwest of St. Louis. I had so much fun there. There is another Walt Disney Museum in San Francisco, CA, but both museums are not operated by the Walt Disney Company.

The Walt Disney Museum in San Francisco is run by the Disney family. It's a fabulous place to visit on top of a hill with gorgeous views of the city.

That concept of big thunder mountain was supposed to be a land called Thunder mesa. The mountain was some sort of ride similar to the coaster at Disney land with the pipe tubing. And a river adventure was supposed to around the land like a rafting ride. You could also explore a ghost town. Also a train was to go around. Big thunder mountain was built instead as budget issues and the town was partially built inside the ride. Yeah a lot of possibilities.

Cable car is a great way to travel, recently tried it out in my travel mobility scooter and the staff were so helpful! Also the Elizabeth line is a great way to travel too

I always thought England should have a Disney Park considering how so many Disney stories are in England and the UK... Imagine King Arthurs Castle, Downtown England, The Jungle (Jungle Book, Peter Pan and Tarzan), Steam Punk Land, Star Wars (Naboo), The Village (101 Dalmatians, Mary Poppins, Winnie the Poo etc.), The Haunted Abbey, so many possibilities and it would be the perfect place for dark rides and indoor coasters. It would be great.

The pirate animatronics except for red are A-100 figures. Those types of figures have very limited movement and just cycle through a set. They are the least powerful Disney has. The shaman is a A-1000 figure with unlimited movements.

I went to it last year near to we’re it was first opened amazing experience the only thing I would have liked Disney to add is old costumes from the parks the shop was expensive only brought one thing had 25£ to spend and came back with a 50 pounds a knitted Mickey more a expensive then the dam Disney parks and store exclusives I get it’s limited edition stuff but it’s so expensive you are better of buying them online for less money

The event at Excel is called **MCM Comic Con** Nothing to do with movies, it’s a bunch of stalls, folk dressed up and people trying to hold onto whatever acclaim they used to have. I’d much rather see them visit an exhibition that is about movies themselves, a comic con wouldn’t be interesting to watch.

I am 73 ,been to Disney Paris three times, Florida 4 times andrehen California. Sonst disappointed in Disney it’s a money grabbing business now. I saw it in Munich and was bitterly disappointed. Not for kids at all. Ps love you two ❤️

It’s a business, making money has always been its main objective. You should read more about the history of the first Disney Resort, it had a LOT of issues, especially prone to overloading the resort with guests, with absolutely no consideration for safety whatsoever. The magic is in the immersion and storytelling, you can enjoy this aspect or only focus on the business side of things.
