Silas...get a flatbed and load both sides with crushed cars. Put netting on them. You could get 13' high stacks of crushed cars on the flatbed. Both sides! 😊 I see them all the time here in California.

Less money and more work that way. We loaded thousands of crushed cars that way over the years tho. I’ve even loaded some like that on this channel a couple years ago.

Man Id love to be in the business you are.. People bringing you cool stuff you can either CRUSH to make money, Or keep and set aside. Just a cool living. Did you ever hear the story about thar guy not long ago that had a scrap yard with a bunch of old cars and he ended up killing 4 people that were stealing from him.. Then he cut their bodies up and threw them in the river. I saw a special on it on here.

My grandpa had a tractor with a crank when we stayed in Alabama my heritage Kansas City reminds me that the trees cows and deers etc. Love that down home background Silas junk yard bring back some good ol memories and times when I was a junk yard dogg woof woof

Here's a little heads up for you sir there's a lot of value in the rear rims of those old tractors because they put calcium chloride in there and most of them are rusted out so you might be able to get some more money if you try to save those just a thought

I’ve sold them in the past but they’re never worth much around here. There are countless thousands of tractors in this area sitting in fields so parts are cheap

BTW, you might want to get a spring loaded punch and keep it around when you're trying to get into cars. Adam Savage showed on Mythbusters that they are just as good for breaking windows as a professional window breaker, especially if you have the little trigger operated one, but just a regular spring center punch works just fine.

Those 8-door station wagon-type cars were airport transports a lot of the time, also some older bands used them as tour vehicles. Really cool find.

That fillet knife is made by rapala, they are very cheap, not hand made, but the blade is good quality stainless, they were cheap fillet knives that stayed sharp.

​@@Marklin15that's not how it works. If you bring a car to the scrap and the owner of the yard fixes it, you don't get to buy it for scrap prices. Scrap yard owners have to make a living too

These flatteners just don’t seem to have as much power as a baler. A baler makes things really tight, but there seems to still be a fair amount of air in what’s left out of one of these.

Good deal on the mail jeep. It is one of the 60s models made by Jeep. Look at the grill. The AMC models made in the 70s had less grill slots.

The fillet knife is a store bought piece. I have one just like it. The engraving says ‘J Marttiini Finland’. Then ‘Hand Maid Stainless’ under it. Nice knife. Mine still has the leather sheath too.

That looks like a tractor we used to use on our farm in the 1960's. Got many a sun burn on that thing. Ploughed a lot of land with it, and mowed a lot of hay. Now I see these guys driving around in their air-conditioned cabs with a better stereo system than God, and complaining how no one can make a living in farming anymore.

The steering wheel on the tractor was worth about 50 bucks, big mistake… I have a collection of old T-3 head lights, they reproduce them now.

Glad to see some crushing again. I really enjoy your videos but do miss the crushing, even when something nice gets crushed. If I wasn't across the BIG pond, I'd love to take a walk around the yard and rip out instrument clusters out of those old trucks for restoration.

Just a suggestion if you arent bothered pulling the motor maybe it’d be quicker to cut the car in half and sell it as a half cut like they do in japan. That being said tho only if its worth the money, otherwise just do what you’re doing now.

I really hated to see that old Ford tractor with the 5 speed transmission crushed. I would really like to had it for parts. I could not work in a scrap yard I would two keep everything!

Unfortunally my heart broke when i saw that 63 or 64 crushed impala. In the time nobody when wanted to preserve 60's cars, me as a European was already aware in the Early 80's that those cars were unique. If i would have lived in the U.S back in those days, i would have bought as many as possible to save them from the crusher. I also spotted an yellow BMW E21.

Great video Silas, it’ll cool to see what you do with the Dispatcher Jeep. The Rambler Ranch in Colorado has two of them in the groves there.All of them have 2 wheel drive and posi rear ends for mail delivery in every kind of weather. I’d love to get one that’s crusty and rat rod it, maybe after I am further along with the Air Force Jeep rat I’m building now

Silas I’m surprised you didn’t get docked for having the tractors in the loads of cars I operated a shredder for 10 years and we tried to shred a few tractors but there is too much thick metal in them Shredder won’t grind it up
