@@bradleypierce1561which just proves the point...of the west coast land(ie US - west coast states, Alaska and Canada) its all BREATHTAKINGLY BEAUTIFUL!!! so lucky to have grown up here...if it wasnt for the shitty politics EVERYONE would want to live here. I find myself gravitating to scenery like this when looking to visit other states (mountains, lush greanery, different hue painted lakes/oceans like Montana, Maine, mountainuous regions of Colorado...) something about the smell of fresh water mixed with the scent of pine and other trees is the most thought clearing smell to me... along with the sound of rushing water; be it in a boat or just the crashing of waves against rocks or sand - thank God for the beautiful Earth he's gifted us to enjoy. ✨️✨️✨️

I have grown up 2 hours north of San Francisco, and is where I currently live again. The whole coastline from here up through Oregon is STUNNING!! I love the area you're in on this video....I love the raw, rugged ocean and beautiful green trees. It's such a strong beauty. I love the damp, cool weather...rain is my favorite. I just love this area so so so much!!

I so agree with you Denise. I'm a big fan of the climate and the rain, the damp sporadic weather, the moss, ferns, lichen, Fungi all mixed into the dense trees and creeks and then the rugged coast is awesome. It's so much more facinating than only having a sand beach like any other beach.. what's the fun in every beach if they were all the same? So I'm so greatful for Oregon's diversity of it's ecosystem's, geological region types, climate type's, and so on. You can find a bit of everything somewhere here in Oregon somewhere... As long as your willing to go on a trip and explore. (I've lived in Oregon my entire life, and I've never been to California yet.. it's actually insane because I've been to many other places.. so anyways, I bet it's got a nice little touch of the Oregon coast vibes near north of San Francisco.. there is some really equal type inland coastal temperate rainforests along the coast region zone of the land in both north California and Oregon. It's so biodiverse and rich in complexity.)

As a Bandon native I was so happy you included our little town in your video. As you came down onto the beach from those many stairs, the rock formation that kept popping up in the background with the two holes that water floods through, is called Elephant rock. The way you capture the beauty of Oregon…! 💙💙💙 We moved away (from Redmond) due to the recession in 2009 and moved back (although to Winston) just over a year ago…. We lived in WY and ID and while both states have their beauty (so excited to watch your videos in those states!), Oregon had been pulling at my heart all those years. This video makes me even more thankful to be back! ☺️ The Southern Coast is so often overlooked but is so incredibly gorgeous! And yes, Cape Blanco is ALWAYS windy! At least I have never been there when it wasn’t. A beautiful beach to ride my horses on though! 🐎 😁 And since we *always travel/explore with our dogs (Java, Latte and Macchiato), seeing Kona enjoy herself on this adventure is just the cherry on top to your beautiful videos! I grew up in Gold Beach (35 years ago) and traveled the coast to Brookings almost daily as a teen and northward through Bandon to Coos Bay quite often. Thank you for taking me home to the place I miss most in the world. It was a magical childhood as I was always outdoors in nature. Whaleshead Rock, the large triangular one at the beach is called that because when the waves come in on the north side of the rock they rush through a hole and spout upward, looking like a whale spout. You can see it in your video from 2:03 to 2:06 on the bottom left corner of the rock.

Have been all up and down the entire Oregon coast several times including all the places you showed. Beautiful coast for sure. You probably know but most don't from what I can tell. With exception of a couple of very short exceptions, the entire coast of Oregon is Dog friendly off leash. Like a 300-mile dog park. Also, to make the entire beach along the coast open to everyone, the State made a deal with property owners, if they allow open access, the state will waive property taxes. Have never read anyone not taking that deal, Dah!! My dog has run free and crazy on miles of the beaches. So fun!!

On the way back to Girdwood, have dinner at the Double Musky restaurant. When you head for Mount McKinley, drive through Palmer and take the Hatchers Pass Road to Independence Mine. Yes that area is gorgeous. We’ve passed through many times on our way in and out of Canada. Such a neat place! We aren’t going to be able to visit the Tulips this year, but have been in years past and that’s a gorgeous event as well! Thanks, Greg!

I grew up in Gold Beach and graduated in 1991. Secret beach was called by most of us "Moon Beach" because it is crescent shaped. I have even camped on the little spot next to the waterfall going down to it. You got some amazing shots. My parents and brother still live in Gold Beach...Thank you for sharing.

SOUPer vlog. I’m glad it didn’t rain on you the whole time, but I guess it wouldn’t be Oregon with some rain. Safe travels as you continue inland. Looking forward to what’s next.

Love it! 😂 We did get a few breaks from the rain, but you are right it just wouldn’t be the same without a little rain! Thanks!

You missed a few neat places in Brookings, Harris Beach State Park is a pretty cool beach to visit nice rock formations Tide Poles and a few small trails, one that gives you a nice view of the beach. I also suggest going down to the Harbor of Brookings to watch the sunset.

Unfortunately we don't have time to do it all. A lot goes into where we go and don't go. In this case it was the lack of time we had. We'll definitely be back!

I’m a recent subscriber and am really enjoying your adventures. Last month we drove the Million Dollar Highway. We just drove it and didn’t have time to stop. After watching your videos, we need to go back! We are heading to Oregon next April, so I’m pumped after watching this. One thing that I’d be interested in knowing is where you camp during your trips. You don’t have to do an in depth campground review, but I would find that helpful information. I know you aren’t about “van life” but just a comment about your camping spot would help. Sorry I’m rambling, but I also REALLY loved that you talked about getting and Airbnb in Durango for your dog. We have that dilemma too, when we want to do something for a longer period of time. Thanks for that idea. So many bloggers don’t talk about how they deal with dogs when sightseeing.

Hi Annette! Thank you for following along! We're glad to hear you enjoyed the Million Dollar Highway and yes it's worth a return trip especially to make some stops! We try to camp for free as much as possible. We use a variety of websites to find free camping including campendium.com, freecampsites.net, and ioverlander.com. We also use Harvest Hosts, which is a really fun way to stay. We do try to incorporate where we stay in our videos, but sometimes it just doesn't fit in with the "flow" of the video. If that makes sense. Also, we want to provide more of a resource about the places we stay on our website in a way just like you mentioned. We'd like to have a google map with places we've stayed pinned with a comment of how we liked it and its "amenities". That's on our to do list. And for traveling with our dog we do have a blog post on our website that details what we do with her while traveling. adventuresofaplusk.com/full-time-van-life-with-a-dog-tips-for-traveling-with-a-dog/ If you have any more questions please let us know! Thanks for watching!

A google map sounds great! I will look forward to it. I checked out your blog about your dog, and it was very informative. Fortunately, our dog is much more easy going. Although, I agree about the “off leash” thing. All she would need is to see a squirrel (or even worse, a deer) and she would be off! Very helpful!
