It must have been so hard to pick your favs! You have truly shown what an amazingly gorgeous and diverse country we live in! I have enjoyed your journeys so much from this side of the screen. Oh, but I think I missed Kona's top picks....I bet she had some favorite hikes; I'm sure her least favorite was the one with the ladders (I think) where Adam had to carry her. Have a very merry Christmas, guys! Looking forward to all the 2022 adventures!

Thanks for sharing your adventures with all of us. Thirty years ago, I took a year off and traveled across the country by myself. I have a map that I kept, showing all the roads I traveled and places I visited, just like the map you have at the beginning of the video. When you look at that map, you realize how many places in our country that you missed. This is an amazing place that we live in. I've been able to fill in a few more places on my map since then, but I still have a lot places to see. I've really enjoyed traveling about with you guys this year as it reminded me of my time on the road. Hope you all have a wonderful holiday and we all look forward to seeing more adventures next year.

@@AdventuresofAplusK That's a difficult question. I've got to break that into two parts. The first is from my adventure 30 years ago and I can't name just one, so how about three! I have two that occurred during the full fall foliage out west. The first time I saw the Grand Tetons on a cold crisp late September morning at sunrise along the Snake River, with all the color in the trees and the amazing snow capped Tetons in the background. The second one was the first time I saw the Grand Canyon. In all the pictures I had seen prior, it appeared to be a very dry place. I actually visited the North Rim first and I thought I was driving through a forest, just like here in New England. Then bam, the canyon appeared and it wasn't what I expected. Number 3 was when I camped on top of a mountain in the northeast corner of Olympic National Park. I was alone and had wild deer grazing within feet of my camp. I also sat high on a cliff and watched coyotes (it might have been wolves - too far away to tell) walking along a game trail below me and was glad I was high above them... Honorable mentions are: camping on a mountain in northern California watching the thunder storms roll by Mt Shasta to the south with the moon lighting up the whole seen. A second one was watching the sun set on the beach at La Push Washington. The color was amazing.. More recently, traveling through and around Glacier National Park with my wife on our 25th anniversary in 2019. So many more places and so many more places to see. Also, I loved the San Juan Mountains too. Thought to myself, this must be what the Swiss Alps looks like... Hope you make it back to Northern New England again some day.
@AdventuresofAplusK3 жыл бұрын
We know the whole can't name one thing! All of those sound amazing! We would love to visit the Tetons in the fall sometime. And the Olympic Peninsula is one of our favorite places ever, as is Glacier National Park. We definitely want to make it back to New England. We want to venture up to Nova Scotia someday, so we can't wait to make it back up that way.

Merry Christmas Adam + Kathryn and Kona. I gotta say that of all the KZbinrs that I have subscribed to you guys are part of my top two. Kara and Nate are right there with you, and that is pretty good company to be in. So many full timers focus on so much on RV or van tips, show way too much driving footage and/or talk too much about campsites and campgrounds. You are actually adventurers and seeing Kathryn expanding her comfort zone this year has been great to watch. My husband and I are 60ish and bought a used class A last year. We considered selling the home we built ourselves and going full time but have decided that is not for us, as we want a home base, at least for now. Like you, we love our National Parks and have visited many over the years. There are many more on my bucket list and we will be taking long trips as time allows and when retirement comes in a couple of years they will be more frequent. I am sure I will be revisiting your videos for tips on what to see and do as we set out on our own adventures. Who knows, maybe someday we will meet up along the trail. Stay safe and know we are all waiting, not too patiently, for next years adventures. P.S. Kathryn: Do not consider yourself a wimp for the pain and your reaction to it at Mammoth Cave. I have shared your experience with my son-in-law who had a severe hand injury that was full of debris a couple of years ago. He is 6' 6" and nobody's wimp. Upon hearing of your injury and what you went through he had the utmost sympathy for you. He was pretty impressed with how you handled it.
@AdventuresofAplusK3 жыл бұрын
Thank you so much for following along! We are honored to be towards the top of your list! And we are glad you enjoy the exploring aspect of our videos. We try to make our videos more about the places than the van, so that even those who aren't in a van or RV can find them helpful! Big congrats on getting a RV...y'all will have SO many amazing adventures in it. It's really nice to have a home on wheels when traveling, it just makes it all much more comfortable! I appreciate his sympathy on the hand! I learned that palms are NOT a fun spot to get injured. Even 6 weeks later I still have some struggles with it. The debris only made it worse 😖😖. We look forward to many more adventures next year. It should be the BEST year yet!

Merry Christmas from Rochester NY (Near Niagara Falls) We love your channel with your genuine good nature and adventurous spirits. I travelled 10000 miles in 9 weeks with a friend from NYS to San Jose California and back through the southern states when I was 19 and realized what a great country we live it with all its beauty, I recently (October )purchased a 2019 Ram 3500 Diesel DRW/Nu Camp Cirrus 920 truck camper in Colorado and my 23 year old son and I drove it back 2200 miles and visited 10 states. I retire in 2 years from Law Enforcement and wondered how long your trip lasted? I have visited 41 states and 8 National Parks and will use your compass to visit many of the same areas that I have never visited in hopes of seeing all 63 National Parks, 50 states and enjoy the areas like you two have! You both covered a lot of ground this past year and I enjoyed the videos I did watch, so I will have to catch the ones from Colorado, Utah, and Minnesota. I really like that you show us the different foods, scenery, and the towns that you visit, you do a great job editing and with your videos. Enjoy your time off and Happy Holiday to you both!

Hi! Thanks for your great videos. I have watched all the Utah & Nevada ones as we are going on a family road trip beginning of April 2nd. I have changed some hike trails, places to visit and when to visit them best during the day, based on your experiences. OMG the traffic in Zion. How wonderful that you got to avoid the crowds visiting less "popular", unknown alternatives. They were equally beautiful spots. Fantastic info, much appreciated! Love the coffee and food reviews so much. Definitely going to try some out when in Kanab Utah. We start our journey in San Francisco going to Yosemite National Park all the way to Bryce and Zion. Alaska is on our must do list as well, so we will surely follow in your footsteps in a few years. Wish we could also take our dog too, Kona is so cute. But our Aiko would not feel happy on a 13 our flight all the way from Belgium. Good luck to you, safe travels and have fun. Greetings from the Timmerman clan.

Thank you for watching! We hope you have a great trip to the National Parks. Yes, Zion can be extremely busy, but it is well worth it. And you will love San Francisco and Yosemite! That is a pretty epic trip! We are excited to create some very helpful video and written content for Alaska this year so stay tuned!

What a year! Hope your injury heals fast. We unfortunately know the feeling. Never been to San Juan, so sounds like we need to add it to our long list lol. Kudos to Acadia. Small but amaaaaazing park. Can’t say great enough things about it. On a side note, we’re happy to see you taking off the rest of the year. Everyone thinks you need to keep pumping out videos, but this is holiday time. Friends, family, breaks, anything. Have a happy holiday and can’t wait to see what you do next year.

We absolutely love watching your videos! We took our own trip out west earlier this year with our cargo trailer conversion and after watching this video I realized we were neighbors when you stayed at Old Hwy 89 Dispersed Camping near Kanab/Mt. Carmel, Utah! That's our black truck and white cargo trailer right below your van - that's crazy! We stayed there a week as a base for Zion and Bryce Canyon and can't wait to get back out there! Capitol Reef is our favorite National Park in Utah, too - loved the cinnamon roll at Gifford House! Watching your channel was a big inspiration for us to start our own channel - we definitely have a ways to go to get the quality of yours, but we're loving it! Enjoy your time in Texas and have a Merry Christmas!
