What do you think of when you think of Miami? For us, it’s South Beach and Cuban food. We had a fun day wandering around South Beach before heading to Little Havana with the goal of eating as much Cuban food as possible. It was a delicious day experiencing another culture in the US!

The spice in the yellow rice should be saffron. The other side dish is yuca (cassava), a root the Taino indians ate in the form of a starchy bread at the time the first Spaniards arrived in the Caribbean. We loved your video

Adventures of A plus K Wow there are so many. For me, probably Tostones (fried plantains) And Arroz con Pollo (chicken and rice.) and anything with guava and cheese!

I want to go there more than my husband so........we will probably never get there. : ( Love the chicken and rice (Arroz con Pollo), we ate it a lot in Panama and the plantains. The pork looked really good too. Maybe I could get my husband there if I tempted him with a cuban sandwich! He loves those!! Love the colors and the art work!

The food in Miami is amazing! Miami is a bit too busy for us and not ideal for van life, but we had a blast! Would love to go back to eat more and lay on the beach someday!

That dish with the onions is yuca which is cassava. There are different ways of cooking the yuca, the way you had it was boiled with mojo which is a garlic lemon type broth with onions. Delicious! Great video guys!

We drive over to Little Havana from Naples when we are down in Southwest Florida in the winter. We have only been to Versailles to eat and it is so good it’s hard to go somewhere else because we only get one time there but you gave us some good ideas to try when we decide to be more adventurous

Miami has some very beautiful water and the best time to go is during the winter time. Of course if you are in Little Havana you have to do a Cuban Sandwich with some fried plantains. What is interesting is Little Havana started out as a Jewish Neighborhood in the 1930s and didn't become a Cuban neighborhood until the 1960s. I would have to say the first true "Little Havana" would be Ybor city in Tampa. It was founded in the 1880's by Vicente Ybor who was a Cuban Cigar manufacturer. Cuban coffee is liquid life. It would wake up a dead person. You have to have a Cuban espresso with a Cuban pastry.

I had a distant relative named Israel, who opened a clothing store in little Havana in the 1970’s. He named it “Casa de Israel,” and had a Star of David on his store sign. Got the best of both worlds. 😂

Versailles is definitely not a tourist restaurant. It’s the most popular restaurant in the area for local Cubans. So you went to the right place!

Hey we just were at El Rey de las Fritas too! We could have run into you guys. We had our rescue dog Hudson with us too (who is similar to Kona but is gray and white). We loved their Fritas and hope you guys also had a chance to try a guarapo! Let us know if you are still in the Miami area as we are sure Hudson would also love to meet Kona.

The orange / citrus taste in the lechon is called naranja agria, it looks like an orange, but with much thicker skin and very sour its used to marinated meats. Awesome video 👍✌️
