Appreciate your honesty doc!! But all of these so-called church advice is a lack of teaching as it relates to the MANDATE of the CHURCH. This discussion again proves that probably why so many people are tuned out and turned off is a misunderstanding of the fact that the church is not just a place. It is the Body of the Lord Jesus Christ!!!

That #5 hits home for me. I lived in Japan for a few years, and the closest International SDA church to my home was 6 hours away. This experience helped me to partake and celebrate the Sabbath in a totally different way being outside of the physical building. I spent Sabbaths in gardens, parks, and at the beach with my blanket, my Bible, and prayer journal. It was refreshing and powerful for me to spend the Sabbath in nature with the Creator, and then a few weeks at a time meet up with others within the sanctuary . Fast forward a few years and Covid hits while I was back in Jamaica. When people were up in arms about the physical building being closed, that didn't bother me one bit, because from experience I know that being inside the church building every Sabbath does not mean we are actually "keeping the Sabbath". #my2cents

Going to church is good. Great actually. I agree with the points. However, when you understand why the physical temple in Jerusalem was destroyed Matt 24:2 "There shall not be left here one stone upon another..." and Matt 23:38 "Behold, your house is left unto you desolate" it was symbolic. The true temple is us. Our heart/mind. Christ dwells there, not in a physical building. If you attend church day in day out and Christ doesn't dwell within you, he isn't "there" with you. YOU ARE THE CHURCH. Gathering together even under a tree is where "the church" would be at that time and its where God will be if he is in you. The church he will return for is NOT a building, not a denomination, not tradition and culture BUT, a people. Love❤❤

He definitely will be returning for a people. And we wanna be in that number!

I am very happy that you guys decide to choose this topic. I have been a christian from my mid twenties. In my church I was taught not to court and after 17 years of marriage we are now divorced. The main reason is that our advice especially from the elders were so hard and fast on us spiritually and emotionally. How can you get married to someone you don't know there flaws and strength and it's during the marriage all the mask is revealed. Yes we fasted throughout our marital counseling sessions, we prayed, very involved in most church activities and even have a chaperone on a date. On my wedding night I cried because I honestly know that I did everything the word of God says and hoping that I was fully prepared for this journey. My final say is that until the church prepare us realistic for this journey marriages like mine being so innocent is now a victim of divorce and it hurts to the core because I did the right thing by living by the word of God. I pray that no one else suffer in this way. Appreciate your videos and will continue to share with my clients and coworkers . Bless unu

Amen to everything you said. It's time someone had this conversation. We love rules. My God I just feel that Jesus must roll his eyes sometimes when he listens to us and watch us put on shackles he came to take off us. All because some Christians feel we must try achieving perfection and their Utopian view of what that looks like here on Earth. If you're not careful you can live your whole life existing and not living, as I'm finding now in my early 50s. Indoctrination can hurt, man.

Having positions in church does not save us. However, God has blessed us with abilities that we should use to strengthen the brethren . The church is also a body of individuals. Plans are necessary for the smooth flow, hence positions are assigned. Saying again, positions wouldn't take us to heaven or naked us better Christian but will advance the work of God.

That's one of the reason why young people leave the church because of structure. For eg. So a church formulate the order in which the Sabbaths or Sunday worship is to be kept and so they follow that pattern only because that's how it's been done for generations so they keep on following the same order which not only gets boring overtime but shuts out God because you arent allowing his will to flow through days proceedings so sometimes for e.g. God wants to do praise and worship before Sabbath lessons but because of order/culture you keep sabbath lesson before worship. So the notion that you should do a particular thing a certain because that's how it's been done traditionally is by very far from the truth of God

On the matter of pushing boundaries - especially intimacy in relationships - the size of the step doesn't matter as much as the direction in which it leads. We should pursue purity as a direction. Bwoii...idk why church leadership mek it seem as though the expression of ministry, service and giftings needs to done predominantly (or even solely) in the church... I think it's part of the reason why the ppl of the world see a lot of Christians as hypocrites... U always ina church and a 'do the right things' there, but in your secular spaces you're a poor representation of Christ... Conversely (& slightly off topic) I remember being soo actively involved and present in church during a very difficult time in my life and no one thought anything was wrong, because I was showing up. Compared to no being present for weeks on end, being in a better place and people assuming in their inquiry of me if 'something is wrong' why I not in church. Make it make sense!

Also a newlywed and mighty God! Wah mek dem no leave we alone?! Also the Pre-marital thing is facts. Truly. If a marriage doesn't work - did they go premarital counselling? Yeah man... that's why. Like seriously. ugh.

Having babies before you are ready is not joke, don’t be pressured, ignore that advice it’s terrible stress. Take it from someone who was pregnant in first year of marriage, we did not fall for the pressure from people but because of health issues. 32 years later and I still wish that wasn’t the case.

Xandra, I personally don't believe I have to be formally dressed to go to church. Church dress should be a lil more free.
