You can hear in the kid's final "yeah" that he already knows they won't be coming back to it. And his mum definitely sounded like the sort to say some bs 'need to get ready for school tomorrow ' excuse for why they're getting back in the car! His intelligence will see him fine when he's older though.

This was better than National geographic! Thanks for sharing the video and your brilliant comments. Also... Remember parents, kids are smart. They pay attention more than we give them credit! I know this after teaching most of my life. Cheers!

That’s fantastic footage! And the fact your kids were able to watch and obviously understand exactly what was going on is so educational. Bravo!

I live in rural western Colorado and sometimes find tarantula hawks outside, they actually sound pretty weird when they fly around. Make a really weird buzzing clicking sound.

So that’s what they’re called! I rarely would see these tarantula hawks on nature trails and I always wondered what those freaky insects were.

Excellent job on that boy. Patient observation is a quality that children rarely have.

What an incredible thing to witness. Your kid is a champ, you should be proud, and fair play to you for nurturing such an interest!
