Great video. I like the sweet campsites you are finding near creeks. Looks pretty perfect to me!! Rainier is awesome! Today is my last day of work . I have been working at this job for 27 years. Tomorrow I start a new chapter including a solo cross country trip in my converted Transit Van. Thanks for being an inspiration!

After 27 years in the same job you deserve something special. Is your van low, mid or high roof? I have a mid roof that I have converted and really like it. Best wishes.

It is a 2011 Transit-older style with mid roof. I am short so it works for me. Bed, cabinets, little sink with hand pump, Dominic fridge, and 200 watts of solar. Pretty sweet. I can't wait to hit the road!

Notice how nobody goes to Mt.Baker? It's way more quiet, better rainforests, way, way less traffic, and more geologically active. Bellingham is the last major jump off point for cheap supplies. Mt.Adams is another one out of the flow of traffic. Good luck!

As per usual, kudos on your 'leave it better than you find it' attitude. Should be everybody's! I found one of those hand-grip-pincher-trash-picker-upper-thingies at the dollar store for a buck. It might help you complete some of those unpleasant tasks. Oh, man, I wasn't jealous of your creek side camp, but I sure wished I could hang out in that water for a while. That duck was lovely. And those tacos looked so could, four doesn't seem unreasonable.

Incredible that your first VID we're able to watch since our return home is Mt Rainier. We just got back to Milwaukee Thursday from a 23 day adventure in our newly modded Nissan NV200 cargo micro-van. That adventure included an awesome stop/stay in and around Mt Rainier. The second nite we stayed over nite in the parking lot with other van and car dwellers. The first nite we found a beautiful riverside free spot in the forest, a river in our backyard, and woke to the haze cleared spectacular view of Mt Rainier. It was so awesome to know that beneath and inside this beautiful monstrous rocky snow capped structure lies an active living molten lava volcano. We walked, no no, hiked up some great steep graded paths a few hundred feet from the base. So inspiring was this area that as we drove down the canyons to head to VooDoo donuts in Portland OR, we stopped at a pulloff, and "words were spoken" about spending our life together.

@tellfredtellfred7 жыл бұрын
Rob Chenoweth Yep, we love it. Stay away from 2013 model. 82" of floor length from inside back doors to back of console. BUT...there is another 10" on either side of console behind seats and, and, another 1.5 ft of cargo area including floor (plenty o room for comfortable crap bucket use) with seats all the way forward and seat backs upright. 55" width for full size 4" thick futon on our custom built (3/4" plywood) bed. The Hottie and I slept great...NO 911 calls were made 'cause of "finding" each others elbows or knees. Our custom built table's 3 hinged plywood leafs (3/4 ply) fold off table (3/4 ply) and onto a lip on the bench seat to complete the bed. 14.5" tall Target storage tubs for clothes, bedding, tools/misc, food slip neatly under the 16.5" storage space between the legs under bench and table giving us a walkway when not a bed. For holding/hanging/attaching, we use lots of small strong Harbor Freight 1.25" round magnets w/detachable hooks and 18" long strong tool mags. A couple of 3 ft long cargo nets and paracord strung tight thru all the holes in inside roof bracing for airing out towels/rags/clothes. At nite, cheap ass $5 black full size "privacy" bed sheet from Walmart we drape over seats and tuck ends into interior plastic molding on walls behind seats where they meet the ceiling. From 3/4 ton micro cargo van to camper van and vice versa in 15 mins. Mileage....last 23 day 6,000 mile NW adventure....30+ avg mpg. The same with careful city driving. So yeah, we love it.

You can use a cheap kitchen rug or welcome mat to lay in creek so you can sit on it and not feel the bumpy rocks. There are some hot springs in Oregon that it works well with. You should make that your next loop as weather cools.
