Nothing more frustrating than fishing all day without a nibble and watching the Osprey pluck fish after fish out of the water like they are showing off...they are indeed great birdwatching. Kingfishers are fun to watch someties too.

Hi Brian, again thank you fr bringing us all along on your journey! I wanted to say one thing that reoccurs on your comments about the size of your home not being big enough. I have an old friend that did monthly journeys in a van like yours (well it was back in the 80's but dodge did not change these) and he had a solution to his small space. If he was going to spend more than a day in a camp (not a city street) he had a tent that attached to his van ( I see lots of westy people use these but not US van people) , the main purpose was two fold. He liked to stand up to get dressed and stretch in the morning and secondly it provided a second layer of protection between his van and bugs/critters that may stop by in the night. The old one he bought back in the day was canvas and did deaden the sound due to the weight of the canvas , these I don't think they make anymore (JC Whitney sold them for years). I did find some nice ones from ARB where you can attach the awning and use for shade and then buy a few different attachments to make into a screen room or a full tent. Your van is able to get into some tight spaces that if you had a box van you may not , I think you have a pretty sweet deal now and thought you might want to look at easier ways to double your living space. Thats my 2 cents. Good travels! Richard

Your videos could be of you staring at some grass and *we* would watch them Brian! Old abandoned structures are amazing. Especially thinking about what the people were like that built/used them in that era, what it was used for originally, how the land looked etc. Love it

Hi Brian. That whole ares is called "The Scab Lands". It was formed by Lake Masula MO ice dam breaching at the end of last ice age. That cliff was a huge water fall when the flood happened. Wonderful area. Nice vlog again. Thank you.

Amazing gift of wildlife and wild adventure! Love the exploration. Perhaps it was a camp used by cowboys herding cattle, they often had camps they stopped at overnight as they moved herds from one place to another, and yes they would corral their horses too. Just a guess. Very cool. Seeing the wildlife would be a favorite for me. Thanks for sharing!

Gorgeous landscape☺ and you left ME wondering & imagining the previous history in that area. Your voice reflected the effects of the smoke; at first, I thought you had another cold. So concerned for so many in this country; between Harvey, the numerous fires, and now Hurricane Irma plotting her damage to ALL of us in FL, one has to wonder WHAT IS GOING ON!!! It'll be so good for yout to move to clearer air. Safe journey, Brian!

Wanted to go some place this past weekend but had no plans. Was hoping to get out of the smoke. Saw your videos on Wednesday and Friday so figured I would go find Coffeepot Lake. It is only a two hour drive. Really enjoyed my two days just listening to nature and walking around. Parked one down from your spot. Only one other camper there all weekend. Thank you for giving us ideas. No one I talked to today had ever heard of Coffeepot. It is a secret I am going to keep.

Your timing couldn't be better, we're headed for Coffeepot TOMORROW and have been wondering what the water level is like. Two years ago the boat ramp dock was high and dry, we had to carry float tubes a long way to get to the water. Well worth the walk btw, there are huge trout in that lake, as must be evident by the presence of the ospreys. Interesting side note, Coffepot's just one of what used to be a string of lakes that made up "Lake Creek", still existing on the map. Unfortunately most of them have been sucked dry in the fifty years or so that wheat farmers have been withdrawing groundwater. Coffeepot, the Twins, and one other on private land are the only wet ones left and I suppose their days are numbered too.

I don't know that one, are you sure you don't mean Pacific Lake? That WOULD be news, it's located at Lakeview Ranch and was a very popular spot for the locals when there was water. BLM still has a campground there and a dock now parked in the dry. They've more or less abandoned the buildings except for the barns they use for storage. There's a couple of water taps there btw, well water not certified for drinking but certainly good for a wash.
@AdventureVanMan7 жыл бұрын
+Fish on! Sorry, yes Pacific. ✌

Hot DAMN- just looked at WDFW's lowland lakes page and they've stocked it with catchable trout! First time since the '90's it's been fishable. I can't thank you enough, we wouldn't even have bothered to go there this time although the campground is pretty nice and we've used it in the past. There'll be a little something extra in your paypal account shortly, stand by to become the very first 'tuber I've ever bought stickers from.

Great video ! You will run into fires in Idaho, Montana, Wyoming. Smoke is drifting south into Arizona as of today here in Prescott. Montana smoke is really bad. Might want to dip down into Wyoming as soon as you can where the smoke is not so bad..get east of there and you should be fine!. Remember don't fly your drone within 5 miles of a wildfire! TFR's Temporary Flight Restrictions go out on wildfires when aircraft is being used. Fines suck! Be safe on the road Bro! Peace!

Very pleased to see you tour my home state of Washington. And especially that you actually came out into the eastern part. Usually the flashier west side is where everyone goes, but I feel like the scab lands and the desert areas have beauty to share. Very peaceful. Not sure if you made it over there, but Palouse Falls is something to see. Thank you again for sharing eastern WA with everyone. :)
