Trek to Kalavantin Durg
There are two starting points of the trek one is Vajepur Village & another is Thakurwadi.
We started our trek from Vajepur. Prabakhad Fort is just next to Kalavantin.
The trek route takes through the dense forest and the Kalavantin is accessible by zigzag stairs carved into the edges of the rocky mountains and no guard rails or ropes. The trail gets notably steeper & riskier but jaw-dropping views and beautiful scenery on the way up make the trek all the more worthwhile.
One can get birds eye view of Mountain Ranges of Matheran & the City of Mumbai from the top.
Height of Kalavantin is Approx - 700 metres.
Difficulty Level - Medium
It is easily accessible from Panvel.
