Can we call the sentence having " In order to " a complex one ??? Please discuss it in the next class . 🙏🙏🙏
@englishguruamansir4 жыл бұрын
According to the Advance Learners Dictionary, 'in order to' and 'so as to' are Subordinating conjunctions and they combine a dependent clause with an independent clause, though there is no finite verb .

I have a watch. It gives me correct time.combine into complex sentence.
@englishguruamansir Жыл бұрын
A watch that I have gives me the correct time. The watch that I have gives me the correct time. The difference in meaning between the two sentences lies in the placement of "that I have." 1. "A watch that I have gives me the correct time." - In this sentence, it suggests that you have multiple watches, and the one you currently possess gives you the correct time. 2. "The watch that I have gives me the correct time." - In this sentence, it implies that you have a specific watch, and it gives you the correct time. So, the first sentence is more general, indicating any watch you might have, while the second is more specific, referring to a particular watch you own.
