I really would love to start dancing. I am 13 and took dance when I was like 3, and I do dance team at school. I really don’t want to sound conceded or anything but I feel like I’m pretty decent for someone who’s never had formal lessons, but I always feel anxiety when stepping into a dance studio (i’ve taken a few specialized classes) and I never like the feeling of being obviously the worst one there because Ive never taken real real lessons. I wish there was somewhere I could just take dance as a hobby and not competitively.

I feel you. I started dancing at 2 and a half years old and competed all my life. I still take 15 dance classes a week included privates and I’m only 14 years old! I always envy the girls who came to the studio only once a week.. I basically spend my life there. My mom used to be a dancer so she just won’t let me do anything else..

My teacher is also a certified hypnotist and we often jokes about how he is using those relaxation and meditation sessions to keep us in the studios and recruit prospective students trying out his classes

I am actually having a really hard time finding the right studio because I live in Portugal, what makes it a lot harder, but also I'm 15 and I have never taken a dance class before and most part of portuguese studios are super strict about following the "program"

Loved this video! Was great to watch your tips, have found an amazing dance studio where I live on the Isle of Man called Move It Dance 😍👯♀️ It's a small one but it doesn't feel like it is, if that makes sense? The teachers are great and friendly who teach v fun classes. I do dance as a hobby and have been since I was five doing tap, jazz, modern, contemporary/lyrical and street ☺🕺 We're working towards our annual dance show with a superhero theme in December and as an adult dancer (24 yrs old) it's been great and am doing recreational classes at the same time too Would love to take a class with you one day too Miss Auti! 😊 Keep up the amazing content and hope you are keeping well and safe in these trying times 🤗

My last dance teacher just wrote to me one day on messenger that she won’t teach me anymore. Without saying the reason, without explaining why. I was so confused and just felt bad, but at the same time I had the worse energy there! I felt in my gut that she didn’t particularly like me, although when we had classes she never said anything negative or was vocal about it, but then decided to write to me just the next day? She didn’t even had the decency to say whatever she was feeling in person! Such a coward and two faced liar. You know the kind that wants to act like your friend in public but you can just feel there’s something off there? And then behind your back or in the safety of their own home they say terrible things to you without anyone watching? Some dancers even wrote to me that they miss me and they were curious what happened because one day I just didn’t show up at classes anymore. People felt sorry for me. That dance teacher is so manipulative and double sided. I never said anything negative about her to anyone yet she said that I don’t respect her and her “studio” (she doesn’t even have a studio, we were dancing in different locations and all had bumbs in the floor! xD point is: she’s only 27, started dancing at around 18/19, now she’s teaching people but she’s nowhere near professional level - just putting this out there). I honestly can’t believe some people! So fake! So now I’m in the process of finding another studio, because even if dance lessons at home are truly amazing, I don’t live alone so making space and time for lessons can be tricky sometimes. Anyways, I fully agree with what you said in this video - energy never lies! The vibes I was getting from her since the day one turned out to be true eventually.... Love you, Auti! 💕

One of the first schools I tried I learned why trial classes exist. The students and teacher had a bad attitude saying they hated dance... the teacher gave me no instructions for the exercises, just saying the name of the exercise like grand batment which means nothing if you don’t have any steps and watched me stand there confused.

I’m curious your thoughts on a studio having senior students as teachers not just helpers but actual teachers for dance classes?

Miss Auti, i need advice. I finally was able to find a dance studio within my families budget, and I love dancing and i’m so grateful for this opportunity and I know this may be judging too soon since ive only taken a few classes, but my teacher isnt that great. She only teaches a 9-17 class and a toddler class so shes really nice...too nice, and ive never really recieved any corrections from her and this is the only dance studio i can afford, but with covid going around i never have any time to talk to her about it. Any advice?
@button20774 жыл бұрын
Ask her if she can start to be a little bit more strict. Ask her if you need any corrections and tell her you want corrections. You need them to be able to learn properly and without them you could get seriously injured. Ask her before or after class so that you do not interrupt and come off as rude.

This doesn’t really have much to do with the video but I would like some advice from some people or to know if someone is in the same position as I am so I have been in ballet for like 9 years now and I am a very out going talkative friendly person but when I enter the studio I just shut off and don’t talk to anyone nor dance as good as at home so I have a really hard time with putting myself out there at ballet to show the teacher that I am pretty good but she knows I am I am one of the top in the class I would say so but everyone else is catching up but I am definitely not the top in the class but I think I could be if I put myself out there cause I can do everything that girl can do and I have been doing this for 9 years and she have only done it for 1 year and has already gotten to be Clara,lead the little kids in performances go to a Dance summer school for a week I did too and another girl but that’s besides the point lol and she was able to get pointe shoes like the 3rd month as has done ballet but it’s always great to have competition in class cause then you can strive to be better at something then the other competitors even though it’s not a competition lol 😂 but anyways back to the point so when I am at dance class my body shuts off and I am no longer outgoing confident nor talkative so all the other girls are all best friends hanging out laughing with each other upstairs while I am downstairs alone just absorbing what’s happening around me and I have gotten better this year for sure but still not like talking to them but I kinda missed my chance cause now it would be weird for me to just go up there and talk to them.Also when I was little the first 3 years I did ballet my fiend did it too so I was all out going talkative and confident then she quit and went to gymnastics and that’s when I got all quite and so now I just feel out side the box and just I feel like I am being judged even though no one even cares about me or knows who I am and now sometimes I will get axiety before I go to ballet because I don’t like that when I go there I feel all alone and in confident but my mom just tells me I am there for myself not to make friends and I need to tell myself that but it’s a really hard thing to fix but a strange thing is when we are not at the studio and say we were to have a ballet party or something I would be very talkative and outgoing and they would be like who is that girl haha 😂 so I really need help with that sorry if you don’t understand what I mean if no one sees this at least I was able to get it out of my chest you know 😂✌🏼 Also I forgot a couple things I really always wanted to help the little kids in a dance because it helps me feel confident that they look up to me but that never happens cause my dance teacher doesn’t see that I am outgoing so she thinks I would be to shy to help them and lead them when really I grow up in a house with tons of little cousins and siblings and my cousins think I am the best person in the world ssoooo also she probably doesn’t put me with them cause I am a bit on the taller side oof I really hate that for me 😐👍🏼

Hi! In the past two months I wanted to be a dancer really bad but I'm not flexible and I'm not a dancer and I'm 14 so when I asked my mom if I can be dancer she told me no your 14 u can't. Can someone tell me why? And if Im I'm gonna be a dancer one day? + Do u think I can start being a dancer in the home?
@davemccarysucks4 жыл бұрын
Yes you can! I'm 14 too and I just started dance! It doesn't matter what age you are as long as you have passion and are willing to work hard for it you can can certainly be a professional dancer if you want to. Dont listen to other people dance has such a stereotypical age that really doesn't exist so please dont let that bring you down and you can also be self taught
