Advice for starting insulation business!

Question for anyone and everyone. We have had our HVAC company for last 7 years working for home warranty. Left that now expanding to insulation and am thinking of hiring sales ppl to go knock doors. How do they get paid? Salary or commission? Do they get a percentage of sales? All new to us and could really use some help

I noticed not all business plans would work in all areas. Like door to door sales in my neck of the woods would never work, for decades woodchucks guys who offer landscaping and arborist work rotted out that type of sales. Would never work here but I respect the hustle. Your type of business if you don't get enough material sales you won't have the margin to compete with the major players if they wanted the retrofit work. I was focusing on new construction then went to another company that did mainly retrofit. Seems like you have to expand and roughly you might have some low performers on your team. Hit me up if you want to grow your business.

I don't offer a sales program or anything like that, just general knowledge from someone who knows insulation been doing it for 13 years and went from bottom to the top. Insulating a shed to multimillion commercial projects
