Absolutely agree with Charlie, definitely have hurt myself far more from not enough gas than too much gas. Almost all of my bruises (to body and ego) have come from not making it up an obstacle and falling off backwards. Thanks for sharing the wisdom!

Yes. I had a bad crash recently same deal. Big log at the top of a hill. Better to be up than fall backwards.

Milt and Charlie have been my mentors for the last year and I'm very fortunate to be able to ride with them and learn from them. 👊 Do you have a Milt or Charlie in your corner?

Love the first thing being maintenance on the bike. My next thing would be to learn the basics first and then move on to obstacles getting bigger as you get better. Agree with the point made that many take a bunch of points before they even get to the obstacles because they do not have the basics down. Another thing I recommend is remove your pack when you get to a riding area. That pack is messing with your weighting and throwing your balance off - not going to help you get better!

Why do you not wear pads and a back protector ? at 77 I do and I take all the time aloted for the competition. So still haveing FUN :-)

I wear knee pads under those MX pants. Elbows if it's really rocky. 🤔 I should get a back spine protector. Keep it up, awesome to hear you're still at it at 77 😀

@@TrialsProgression god stuff, I have the Jitsie knee and elbow sleeve pad setup with a Leate spine protector or on hot days I can get away with a camelback and fannypack, avoiding the larger rock zones. It did worry me not seeing any elbow pads even in the tree and log location you were riding. Enjoyed the video, thanks.
