You should have multiple channels because youtube likes to recommend similar content to what someone is already viewing. If you watch Phase Connect, youre going to get more Phase Connect streams and videos. So as an indie vtuber, you should have a channel for highly edited videos then you can have additional channels like your "VOD" channel. I would also like to say you should stream on your VOD channel and not your main channel and still upload slightly edited videos onto your vod channel as not many people going to KZbin are going to sit through 5 hours of unfiltered stream unless its very entertaining. - my advice as a youtube viewer, i dont make content so take this with a grain of salt

My experiences are pretty limited and my channels are super small, so take this with a grain of salt. On the vod channel vs multistreaming thing, there is one thing I noticed on my channels. I had one day where I was multistreaming to both youtube and twitch but cut off my youtube stream halfway through due to technical difficulties. I later posted the last half of the stream I'd continued on twitch over to my vod channel. Both the live half and the posted vod half had the exact same titles, metadata, tags, etc. The only differences were the channels and that one was in the live tab and the other was considered a video. The youtube 'live' vod only got about 80 impressions. The twitch vod posted on my vod channel got several thousand.

Not to say that streaming on youtube is bad or anything or that you shouldn't multistream. Just saying that if you're starting out, don't expect youtube to really push anything you put in the live tab. This is just my very limited data on the subject. Do what works for yourself first and foremost.

As a art main when it comes to Vtubing, you can make it work. For me its basically like just chatting but i also draw. I recommended watching other Art vtubers to see what kinda vibe you want. Same with gaming. I have a twitch bias. Also you could designate certain streams for certain days. Like gaming one certain days and art on other days

Your reasons for Multiple Channels yes please! ✋️ thank you for answering my question. Ultimately, upon consideration, the cover channel will remain separate due to higher danger of copyright strikes. My main channel will be my streams (gaming and chatting) and my original songs (eventually) and then whatever-random-bullshit-go evergreen content. It did help me structure my thoughts on it.

I wouldn't say I get 'bored from talking' but I know it can be difficult to find things to talk about at times and one thing I'd REALLY suggest maybe trying is finding a visual novel that really interests you (assuming there is one) and then playing that or any other game with lots of text like Danganronpa or Phoenix Wright maybe... For me it's Fate/Grand Order rn... Because in those games you have endless things to talk about but it's more than just that... You also have things that you can interject about... I remember watching ChilledChaos play Katawa Shoujo for example and that really I think is a great example of what you want to do, he I think bounces off the text he's given really well... Having lots of text let's you bounce off it like having another person with you which is something that is usually more entertaining to listen to than just one person because it's like a back-and-forth is going on between what one person says and the other person... BUT YOU DO NOT NEED that other person to have a back-and-forth like that, you just really need to be constantly getting an input to base your output on and you can get that input from a game that provides it constantly (and games with lots of text are doing that constantly)... So with games that have lots of text yes there's difficulty in like, constantly talking... But this itself is also good practice IMO, you can record in 30 minute spurts and take small breaks between if need be... Another difficulty is doing the voices, that may or may not be challenging for you, don't got much to say on that... But yeah, if it's a game with lots of text, you basically have no dead air which is great... Your focus can be on providing silly commentary/reactions/jokes on things you encounter... Same as usual... But not only does the text give you a lot to react/respond to, it ALSO fills all of the dead air (or most of it... In the case of Fate/Grand Order I cut out the loading screens when I'm not talking because there is nothing to be gained from including that and no one wants to see it... It wastes the time of viewers objectively and gives them time to think and click off to another video because not much is happening... With the combat in Fate/Grand Order, it's at least a lil more interesting, but I typically still speed it up to get it done with sooner if the fight isn't challenging/interesting or I have nothing to say... Some people might want to see it but certainly with the first several chapters of the game the combat is boring AF and a total cake walk... I didn't know all this stuff IMMEDIATELY when I started the Fate/Grand Order series on my channel, but it's kinda things that I've gradually picked up and reflects the content as it currently is... But yeah, I feel like I've done many games and I've had a few that I've clicked with, but with Fate/Grand Order I think at this point I REALLY click with it... Like don't get me wrong, I also do League of Legends and I love uploading those videos too, but it's also difficult because League of Legends can easily have several minutes go by where not much of note happens to you or anyone really and trying to stop the dead air can be challenging... I think if a game has a lot of text though then it's mega easy to not have that dead air (unless the game naturally has loading screens frequently or less interesting non-text gameplay but those you can potentially edit out or speed up appropriately)... So yeah, text-heavy games, BIG recommendation for if you're 'bored from talking' in the sense that you're bored from finding things to talk about and have kinda been running out... (If you're bored from the activity of talking itself then frankly idk how to help that since it seems like you're just in the wrong line of work being a VTuber, like, people aren't gunna show up just to stare at your vtube model as it moves around... Unless maybe it's somehow doing some cool sign language, that'd actually be amazing for people who have hearing difficulty come to think of it lol... But you need to be communicating, that's part of being a VTuber (or often a content creator in general, but certainly not always...))

Might be difficult for you, like I know there are other content creators who do your style of content Mari but yeah, not too many and finding them when they're streaming would be difficult for you to be able to raid into probably... That said, I think raiding is great and you should probably go for it if you're doing content where you can easily find people doing similar content... Like if you're doing a game then you can often find other people doing that game or some variant of it perhaps pretty easily on Twitch... But if you're more of a Just Chatting sort of person where you talk about stuff a bunch then finding someone talking about similar stuff can be a challenge for sure since all Just Chatting is grouped together as a category... Generally though, I think you should do raiding IMO... I'm not a Twitch streamer rlly atm but if I was I'd do it... I definitely oftentimes don't care to stay long when a raid happens, but sometimes I will stay for a bit and maybe even give the person a follow if I think to myself (maybe I would like to stumble upon this person again in the future if I'm looking for content...) So while I may or may not watch them more later on, that still does help their follower numbers...
